PHILOSOPHY

I know for me I consider myself to be spiritual, but not religious. I have personal experiences and visions and times that god has gotten me through alot, but at the same time I don't agree with a lot of what some of the more organized religions stances on a lot of things. I also know that for me I am very open and comfortable with myself and my body and my sexuality. I believe that if anything instead of repressing our sexual beings we should embrace them as an integral part of ourselves and instead of trying to teach kids that sex is bad and that they just shouldn't do it until they are married, teaching kids how to be safe about it and how to truly be honest, respectful, and communicate openly about themselves and what they want and how to respect other people's boundaries. I am also a very big opponent of rape for that very same reason. I have known way too many friends who have been affected by it. I also know that for me I tend to be a very loyal friend. I am blessed with a 6th sense about people and usually for the most part, once I have decided that someone is a person that I want to get to know better, usually it ends up turning into a very good friendship. I also consider myself to be polyamorous, and I think thats probably one of the bigger things in my life that kind of dictates how I interact with people. For me the way I have defined my polyamorism for myself is to not focus so much on trying to get something or expecting something from a relationship and just allowing whatever natural connection occur to occur. I find that every individual that I connect with will bring their own individual connection, and so instead of saying, well I know that I want a bf/gf, or I am looking for a sexual partner, just allowing whatever connection we have to come forward, regardless if its sexual or not. I know from personal experience that I have some friends that I love very dearly and we have been friends for a while and we might be very openly affectionate with each other but we both know that we just arent meant to have a sexual connection with each other, while there are some people that the physical, spritual, and sexual connection is just so strong that you almost cant help but act on it. But it is also about being open and honest and communicating and respecting people's boundaries as well, because with each different connection different people are going to have different comfortability levels, so I try to be conscience of those as well.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I know that I havent gotten a chance to build the CS project, but as far as the community of arcata in concerned, I have volunteered with the endevour for over a year now and have strived to help the homeless population here. I also was involved in the project on Martin Luther King's day to build a park in Manila in one day. I am also an active member of the Black Student Union and that Queer Student Union

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

For me as far as any couchsurfing experiences go, for a while I was couchsurfing because I had been evicted from my apartment and I needed someplace to stay in the meantime, but fortunately I have a permanent place now.

Music, Movies, and Books

Its too big of a list to really do justice, but as far as books go I look a good murder mystery, but I am also interested in spiritual books, as well as books about how to heal yourself naturally. As far as music goes I go from jazz all the way to psychobilly rock so my taste is very eclectic, and as far as movies go its nice to have a laugh everyonce in a while but I tend to gravitate toward movies that make you think.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I would have to say that some of the amazing things I have seen or done is that when I was living in Hawthorne, Ca I got the chance to go to Catalina island as part of a project to help innercity kids get a chance to learn responsibility by teaching us our different jobs on the boat and then having us sail over to the island. I also know other amazing experience in my life was when I was in Forth Worth Tx and a tornado blew through Dallas. Another amazing moment for me was when I got the chance to go to the National Forum on Medicine hosted in UCLA. I would have to say a recent amazing moment for me though was when I walked about 9 hours straight up ficklehill rd and ended up pushing myself much farther than I thought. Another recent amazing moment for me was getting the chance to volunteer and represent the Arcata Endevour on Martin Luther Kings day and help build a park in one day in Manila.

Teach, Learn, Share

I know that as far as skills go I am a really good cook, I also know how to play the bari sax so if anyone wanted to learn how to play an instrument I could teach them that. I'm also very knowledgable in science and math and I am learning about different local medicinal herbs and different healing techniques as well as massage, but I am always looking for more experience with that. I also know that I have limited experience farming but I know that I would love the chance to get my hands in some dirt, so if there is anyone who knows about that stuff and doesn't mind an eager young space cadet at your side I wouldn't mind even just helping in someone's garden and learning that way
