My name is Myriam, hello! I am half Italian, half Latvian, but I feel like I belong to the world. I've lived my whole life in Duino, a small town by the sea, in the North-East of Italy. It is a beautiful place, and sadly I am not living there at the moment, I can only go there for the holidays, as I am studying in Segovia, Spain. As my mum is a teacher at UWC Adriatic (United World College of the Adriatic) I grew up and lived my whole life in Duino, in a very international environment (more than 80 nationalities present every year). I studied there for the past two years, and obtained the IB diploma. I know about quite a few cultures, traditions, religions, customs and such, but I always want to learn more and discover something new. I get along with people, I chat and socialize easily. My character can be complicated, I like doing things my way, but when I meet new people I am open to possibilities; I want to learn as much as possible from you.

Why I'm on Couchsurfing
I want to meet new people, make friends, discover things; and I love travelling so cheap accommodation around the world is always a good thing.
Music, Movies, and Books
Queen are my absolute favourite. I also listen to Classical, rock and some miscellaneous. I love reading, I have too many favourite books to write them all here. I enjoy sci-fi and psychological films, some of which are Inception, Mr Nobody, Gattaca, Shutter Island. Also the Green Mile and Shawshank Redemption.
My Interests
I love animals, I really do. If you don't, you're not welcome. I am interested in photography, I am an amateur photographer. I mostly enjoy taking pictures of landscapes, but I also like portraits and detailed close-ups. I love the sea, the sun, and nature in general. I sometimes like walking around a place, known or unknown, and explore, wander, sit in the sun. Travelling is another big passion I have: since I was little, I've been travelling the world; I have to thank my parents for this. The countries I visited, I visited properly, it's not that I was there for few days and then I left. If I won the lottery or inherited a big sum of money, I would forget about everything else and go travel! Well, I'd first have to graduate. Cooking is another thing I really enjoy doing. When I was little, I used to watch my dad cook. When I started primary school, I knew how to make myself pasta; now I can do better than that! I eat most things, I like trying new things and experimenting with new dishes. I also like tradition though. Simplicity is something I keep in mind when I cook too. Baking comes with cooking, I love both these things. I promised myself that sooner or later in life, I will actually take a course in cooking. I enjoy reading and watching films. I watch and read many things, but there are few that actually stay with me forever.
