I'm 40, single, grew up on the kibbutz (a communal village). Did my army service as a medic. Lived in Jerusalem and Tel-Aviv for many years. I studied psychology and a program in the Humanities in the Hebrew University in Jerusalem. After working for some years in writing university admission tests and then a relatively brief stint in the high-tech industry, I came back to my home village in the far north of Israel, and am currently working in the fields.

Why I'm on Couchsurfing
Rural Israel is beautiful and peaceful and is geographically my home, but it seems to lag behind somewhat in terms of the variety of population, and cultural environment. Having visitors from abroad helps me be reminded there's a whole world out there. It lends perspective. Plus, I love nice people.
Music, Movies, and Books
MUSIC: all kinds... I studied classical in high school, am somewhat of a jazz buff, and popular music with its variety is also great. MOVIES: gravitate towards more artsy films, although light escapism has its place. BOOKS: a Joyce fan. read some Huxley lately. admire Milton.
One Amazing Thing I've Done
no amazing feats... :)
Teach, Learn, Share
I've good knowledge of the area (Hula valley, Golan heights), and I guess a solid ability to address Israeli history and politics. I love taking visitors to some of my favorite spots in the near area and to share some knowledge about the night sky (I have a modest telescope). The latter two pending on weather and more significantly my seasonal work load (some seasons are extremely busy in the fields).
What I Can Share With Hosts
knowledge about Israel... history, politics; Judaism (although I'm not a practicing Jew); astronomy; interest in art and music; my insights into life ;-)
