About Me

Hello guys!

My name is Nastya, I’m 21 y.o. And I’m a fourth-year student in Moscow State University of International Relations.
I’m excited to learn new things and getting to know people and their culture!
I’ve already travelled quite a lot in Europe and the USA. In the States I’ve been three times living in the host family and studying English - unforgettable experience!

I’m passionate about sports, I did rhythmic gymnastics for 10 years. Now I do bits of everything. I accomplished one of my dreams last year - a Half-Marathon in Strasbourg! Wanna do a Marathon one day :)
I also adore cooking, especially baking. A couple of years ago I even wanted to abandon my studies to apply to Le Cordon Bleu (cooking academy in Paris)! My favorite deserts are Millefeuille and Fôret Noire.

I love reading and planning trips ( I can spend days reading about places to see!)

I share a one-room apartment with my boyfriend in Moscow.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I want to see the world from the perspective of locals. I want to try your traditional food, visit the best sights of the city, meet your friends, listen to your stories! I want to enjoy it all while I’m young and soo curious about what the world has to offer!

Music, Movies, and Books

I listen to all kinds of music. When I go dancing or jogging i adore hip-hop and modern, in my daily life i listen to rep and pop, but I also enjoy going to concerts with classical music (Beethoven and Vivaldi are my favorite) or to the opera (already been to Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow, Mariinski theatre in Saint-Petersbourg, Wiener Staatsoper, Bayerische Staatsoper, Hamburger Staatsoper, Elbphilarmonie.. i have a small collection, but there’s so much more to explore!)

I’ve never been into movies and in my free time I’d rather read a book or google my next trip :)
But if my friends go, I also join the fun!
Can’t stand horror films, prefer comedies to laugh!

French literature of the XIXth century is everything! Balzac, Flober, Maupassant, Dumas, Stendhal, Zola... even though I study international relations and literature is not my particular area of scientific interest, last year I talked my professor into letting me write my course paper on French realists of the first half of the XIXth century (it was 84 pages long instead of 35!)
I love Russian literature, of course! Sometimes I read German and American authors.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I traveled through the Kuril Islands for 10 days: living in a tent, swimming in the Pacific Ocean and tracing bears!
I traveled to Jordan with my boyfriend, we spent our time living in an Arabic family and had most delicious traditional food and lovely chatting!
I embarked on a 5-month long journey - my semester abroad in Strasbourg last year!

Teach, Learn, Share

I’m very friendly and open-minded and my greatest pleasure is just talking to people and learning their stories! Life is so rich and multi-dimensional and you can’t possibly know everything, but it’s amazing that through communication we can learn so much about other cultures! I appreciate it a lot when people want to share a piece of their lifetime with you!
I can also join you for morning or evening jogging, because I love sports and do it every day :)
Want to try some traditional Russian food? I’d love to cook for you (or teach you how to do that).
I’d be so grateful if you give me tips about your city/town and maybe join to have some fun together!

What I Can Share with Hosts

In return, I’ll tell you about my Homeland, it’s culture and history. Also, we can cook some traditional dishes (yours or mine)! I’ll bring you the best Russian chocolate and make sure you’ll want to go to Moscow and see this amazing city (I’d be happy to offer you my couch!)
