About Me

_________________________

Welcome travelers to Adelaide! I hope you have a great time here and leave with many happy memories!

I am a 22 y/o student who - surprise, surprise - enjoys traveling! I love spending time with people as I've grown up with a large family of ten people - with frequent extended family events. I love meeting new people as I feel that every one has their own interesting life stories to share, which we can all learn from. Travelling has always been a highlight of my life as it enables me to meet new people as well as be part of different circumstances and cultures - the wide variety of life-altering experiences it brings is amazing! I love playing games of all types with people, as I feel like it's a great way to get to know someone even better!

I'm in my fourth year studying Medicine, so I may not be as free and available as I'd like to be, but give me a shout and hopefully we can sort something out!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love meeting people from all different facets of life, and this seems like a great way to do it! Every Couchsurfer I've met has been absolutely awesome, and I want to continue meeting great people like that throughout my life. There is no equivalent service that gives me the opportunity to, not just stay with people, but experience culture and form strong bonds with people I otherwise would not have met.

Interests

I am an avid board/card gamer, and will always be keen and up for playing something - whether that involves teaching other people or learning myself! Please teach me something new and I'll return the favour!
Sport and physical activity is another way I love to spend my time. Playing a game of tennis, frisbee, or just kicking around a soccer ball are all things I love doing with other people in my free time.

In general, I prefer doing all sorts of energetic activities with other people, but I'm also known to just relax by reading a book or playing some computer games.

Music, Movies, and Books

Musicals! Especially Disney musicals! Start singing, and if I recognise it I'll be sure to join in! Or wait for me to start myself haha.
Also any sort of Jazz/Swing music, or anything with a good beat.
Queen! The Beatles!

I'm a massive fan of all Disney movies, as well as loving many sci-fi movies such as The Matrix, Inception and Interstellar.

Books! There are too many to pick favourites... I am a massive book reader if given the opportunity and free time, and love many different novels and series. Of note is Harry Potter, His Dark Materials, Tales of the Otori, the Eragon Inheritance Cycle and many more.

Game of Thrones has also appeared on my agenda in both TV and book form... I enjoy it immensely

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

How to choose...
- trekking through the Tuscan countryside with other Couchsurfers! The combination of beautiful views, welcoming and interesting people and lovely food and wine made it spectacular. And of course finishing the night in the Thermal Baths. That was good as well...
- worked at a Summer Camp for adults with special needs in the USA! Incomparable, incredibly fun
- paddleboarding near the Isla de Ometepe in Nicaragua during sunset... Didn't seem real...

Teach, Learn, Share

Come to me bored, and I'll make sure that changes. If you're keen and up for it I have a whole host of games to teach you, from classic card games, to a couple of unconventional card games (Hanabi, Love Letter) I've brought with me, to fun physical ones like Ninja Destruction!
Also happy to teach the little swing dancing I know. And if you're keen, I know enough Indonesian to share a little of my knowledge there as well

I love learning to cook anything and everything! I haven't had much experience cooking but am always eager to learn more. Also love learning new languages, especially Spanish while I'm traveling Latin America!

Hopefully between us, we can share many good times - as well as a drink or two!

What I Can Share with Hosts

A new perspective! Just being a new person to meet, so I can tell you about my own life and travels, and share a bit of my own story.
I am happy to teach some basic swing dancing to any interested, as well as a fun variety of card games, parlour games and... uncategorised games.

Above all, I consider myself a helpful guest! I am always willing to lend a hand in any and every way I can - you're the ones opening your homes to me and I want to pay back the favour however I can.
