About Me

Hi! I'm a Malaysian student currently studying at Esslingen in Germany.

I was raised with three main cultures, namely Kadazandusun, Chinese and Filipino (due to my parental heritage). Perhaps this has given me a unique view towards different cultures and definitely made me want to experience other cultures as well.

Being also raised in a melting pot of food, topics regarding food can be some of my favourites 😋

I only started Couch Surfing recently and I am amazed how you could see the world in such a different way and perspective, meeting new people from all over the world, different from travelling like a typical tourist!

Other things to know about me, I'm a semi-introvert so sometimes conversations might get awkward do bear with that, I can drink but my tolerance is like terrible but I do enjoy trying out new things!

I'm also more of a "night-person" so I tend to prefer to stay up late and enjoy doing things late at night vs. waking up early.

Language wise, my first languages are Malaysian English and Sabahan Malay. Curious to know what these mean? Oh and I can also speak German (well enough to study and survive in DE)

Sometimes when I'm back home in Malaysia on a long break I might also be able to host you in my lovely town of KK! (Read: My Home)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love learning new things from people and making new friends.

When you stay over at someone's place instead of the typical hostel/Hotel, you really get to immerse yourself into the "local life".

They also say, the locals know best.

I'd also want to take a step further from my comfort zone and try something different and interesting.

Interests

I like to talk about cultures, history, languages, politics, and so on.

I'm also a geek towards planes and aviation, trains and travelling, modern gadgets, cars, etc.

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm very indecisive, hence, it's hard for me to have favourites XD

But I do enjoy some series/cartoon/anime like Game of Thrones, Avatar (Last Airbender), Attack on Titan, and the MCU Series. Horror is cool too (Conjuring?)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Moving across the world at 19 to a totally new country with new people and to study in a language I only just knew

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach and share:-
- the languages I know
- my travel experiences and advice
- how to travel cheaply (flights, trains, cars, busses)
- some food recipes I've picked up
- games from my home country
- more about my home town (many do not know much about the Eastern Side of Malaysia (Borneo), where the life, people, culture and environment is quite different)
- etc.

I'd love to learn:-
- tips and tricks in the foreign city
- the culture and food culture
- new languages

What I Can Share with Hosts

My travel experiences and things I've learned, and especially about the interesting culture (and food) of Malaysia :D

And some tips about my 2nd home, Germany as well!

I also enjoy playing games :D
