大家好，我原名叫Kinuthia，但连英国人觉得难说，所以你叫我高康吧！虽然我是混血儿，我在英国出生长大，浑身上下是英国男孩儿。我原来在欧洲旅游时下代CS了，交许多挺热心和友好的沙发主。不过会去英国以后，才发现当沙发主比当沙发客更好玩！

我现在住在西安市中心，在钟楼附近。我在这儿当大学老师，而且挺喜欢我在西安的生活，期待跟客人多探索这个城市。

Hi! I’m originally from Birmingham in the UK, but don’t have the accent, so you’ll be able to understand me! Despite my Kenyan heritage, I’m about as English as tea and scones.

When I’m travelling I usually sleep in a tent in parks to save money, but I get a bit lonely sometimes, so I decided to join Couchsurfing to actually meet some locals and end up aimlessly wandering around cities less! This also means that if you’re kind enough to want to host me, I don’t even need a bed/couch, just some floor for my sleeping bag or a little garden for my tent.

Couchsurfing seems like the technological equivalent of hitchhiking, which I’ve fallen in love with! Getting to meet the cross-section of society that’s actually interested to meet you as well, and kind enough to offer their homes to strangers, is simply fantastic.

I love working with people, especially teenagers and young adults! Whether that’s as a Scouts, in schools, or summer camps, I just find it fills me with energy!

As for my personal interests, I’ve always enjoyed writing, especially fiction, but I enjoy branching out into poetry and even rap! However, recently I’ve been finding it very difficult to write! I’m trying to keep a diaries while I’m travelling to spark some inspiration, but it’s really just procrastination - I think the only way to write is to just write!

But basically, I’m very young, and end up finding and dropping different interests at the drop of a hat! If you’ve got enough passion about something, I love chatting about it. I one spoke to a guy for hours about one specific part in the process of manufacturing steel tubes - from anyone else I might have been bored out of my mind, but this guy spoke with so much passion I couldn’t help but love it too! So if you’ve got a boring passion, I want to hear about it!

Morceaux de musique, films et livres

I’ve got an eclectic taste in just about everything, but my preferences tend to come in phases - right now I’m loving Afro-jazz, but I’ve been into a bit of everything at some point, especially Grime, Funk and Soul.

When it comes to films and books, I’ll basically just watch whatever’s recommended to me, but I’m a history lover so anything with that sort of spin I’m heavily inclined towards! My all time favourite film has got to be Fiddler on the Roof, which if you haven’t seen, I can’t recommend highly enough. I reckon it’s best to go into any film blind, so the classic review: ‘it made me laugh, it made me cry’ will have to suffice for now.

As for books, my favourites are all history books, which I won’t talk about because I know how boring history is to a lot of people and totally understand! It’s just one of those subjects that, for whatever reason, totally clicks with me. My favourite fiction books are very typical, I love 1984 and anything by Douglas Adams. But I’m trying to find recommendations from a whole host of different genres, I feel like my literary education has been rather limited. Magical realism seems most interesting to me at the moment, so if you’re a fan, I’d love to know some of your favourites.

I can teach a little guitar, I think I’m starting to get reasonably good! I also like cooking, and I’m happy to prove that vegan recipes aren’t all tasteless; of course I’m always wanting to learn new recipes too. Also, if you feel like you need help with your English, I am trying to become an English teacher, so hopefully I can help. I’d also love to learn any languages you know, but be warned that I’m a very slow learner!
