About Me
CURRENT MISSION
to find a veggie oil pick up truck and have countless adventures with it!
ABOUT ME
Oh geez I really dont like this cause I feel like I add and shed layers daily, especially whilst traveling. Alright, random list of the essentials: I LOVE to bake, bike in the early morning fog, bike in the late midnight fog with a backpack full of dumpstered bread, I just love fog, I used to live in a shed in college and would love to hear the rain pounding on the tin roof, I love yogurt so much it drove me to seek out work randomly at a dairy farm across the country and I ended up falling in love and finding my life's passion, knitting, thinking about what to make for dinner, hanging out for extended periods of time in the back country, baking, making breakfast,
yoga-dancing-hula-hooping basically moving my body in any way, kids, I love teaching kids and hanging out with kids they are so awesome and some of the greatest fun I've ever had was with friends under the age of five, learning, talking about, and just being around plants, especially medicinal herbs, rocks my world. And goats, I can hang out with them all day
PHILOSOPHY
A personal truth I have come to learn in my short twenty two years is just to be KIND and let go of your baggage 'cause more often than not it's not even yours, rather your parents or grandparents, a huge ball of insecurities and forgotten dreams and failures. Isn't that sad?? Poor us! Kindness and compassion transforms all of that for me, lets me rise above blanket judgements to a place of understanding and feeling for other folks.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Well for the time being I have been a bit of a mooch since I have just been a surfer but I can honestly say that I am excited to be in one place long enough to host other travelers, at some point soon I hope. Maybe I can pick up an inflatable couch somewhere and strap it to my backpack and then I can host folks even when I travel!! heh heh
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Ahhh, I am a born again couch surfer! I have had two experiences one in Prague the other one in Dublin and I must say they sorta changed my life, rocked my world, and all that jazz. Both the girls were so inspiring and we had an awesome time cooking meals, having midnight climbing adventures in the forest, doing random art projects late at night- essentially awesome! Couch surfing should be a mandatory experience for every human being!!
Interests
MUSIC!! I had a banjo and was taking it on outings almost daily at one point but then the piece of crap broke in half (literally) and so I took up knitting instead. But I love to listen to music, dance to music, talk about music, I grew up in a festival community of sorts so the kindred spirits that tend to gravitate towards good live music are close to my heart.
FOOD! Fantasizing about food, cooking food, reading Jamie Oliver cookbooks and dreaming about having a steady paycheck again so that I can afford good ingredients instead of jars of peanut butter and 90 cent packages of biscuits.
ART! and all forms of expression!! I just love it when folks are honest with themselves and real about their experiences and willing to share it through any medium.
MAGIC!! This is a big one for me, I love feeling and knowing that there is something much larger than myself, a mystery so beautiful that sometimes, when watching the rain come down in sheets over the Pacific or being so completely in the stillness of the forest after a night's heavy storm, it's all I can do to keep from bursting out of my skin in all directions.
Practical skills such as weaving, spinning and dying my own wool, making cheese and yogurts, animal husbandry, all are things I am hoping to learn during the course of my life. And knitting socks, I hope to have that one checked off of the list by the end of this year!

Music: The Waifs, John Butler Trio, Led Zep, Pink Floyd, Wailin Jennys, South Austin Jug Band
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I watched an electrical storm pass right in front of the window while I was tucked away inside a make-shift fort in the living room. You should have all been there!!
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you how to knit, make a swell peanut sauce, say "give me a beer or I will kill you!" in czech (it's the only phrase my friends know and it has won them a lot of laughs in Czech land), make groovy hemp jewelry, cook up a delicious banana chocolate chip bread in ten minutes flat, share a few facts about plants, and spread some positive california vibes. Yes, I have a lot of those to give!!
