About Me

Live, love and learn!

ABOUT ME

I'm pretty relaxed, but I try not to relax too much so I force myself to step out of my chill zone as often as I can.

One of my favorite things is having memorable conversations with random people that I just met.

PHILOSOPHY

I think every living being's purpose in life is to do what he/she/it is best at. In my opinion what humans are best at is learning, teaching and sharing knowledge about the world, nature and ourselves.

So I think the most important thing we can do in life is to experience new things, learn about the world and its people and most importantly about ourselves. And if we get to share this knowledge with others, then that's even more wonderful!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I think the CS community is one of the things that gives me hope for humanity! I love meeting CSers, hosting and surfing!

Interests

Travelling for the sake of sightseeing gets boring real fast. The best part of traveling for me is meeting the locals, learning about their culture, values and the way they interact with each other.

What always amazes me is no matter how different our cultures and languages might be, at the end of the day we can all sit together and drink a beer or tea together and laugh about the absurdities of the world!

My favorite hobbies these days are climbing and playing beach volleyball and trying not to suck at chess.
I love spending time in nature, for a hike, camping, backpacking.... the longer the better!

I also like playing my guitar, even though I'm not very good at it... I don't know that many songs, but sometimes I can just play for hours as I day dream about far away galaxies!

But my absolute favorite thing to do is breathing!
(on a side note, isn't it odd how easy it is for us to forget how amazing breahthing feels?! If you read this now, please just take a very deep breath and remember how nice it feels! )

Music, Movies, and Books

For sometime I was really obsessed with the books of Carlos Castaneda. He is an archaeologists that writes about his encounters with an enigmatic Shaman, named Don Juan!

I love listening to most types of music, but my favorites are progressive rock, classical and contemporary music and some house music here and there. Some of my favorite artists are Pink Floyd, Camel, Opeth, Godspeed you! black emperor, The Doors, Phish, Focus, Procol Harum, Porcupine Tree, Eyedea....

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I remember one night camping in the Sierra Nevada mountains of California, laying down on some rocks and looking at the night sky with both Mars and Venus visible. I had some sort of an "epiphany" as I was thinking to myself how the earth is like a spaceship moving through the vast universe and the sky is our window to the outside. I couldn't help but feel extremely minuscule and yet super lucky to have a ticket for this awesome cruise-ship we call Mother Earth! (btw I swear I was fully sober!)

Another awesome experience was seeing the 2017 total eclipse in the US.
I had heard that total eclipses are super unique experiences, but I didn't really understood why until I saw one!
Next one is in 2024. You down?

Call me weird if you want but sometimes observing carefully the simplest things, like the flow of the water in a small creek or the texture of a tree bark can bewilder me more than anything else!

Teach, Learn, Share

hmm.... I can tell some weird/strange/cool physics facts that you'll make you feel weird/strange/cool!
