ABOUT ME

My wife and I own Amapondo Backpackers in Port St Johns, South Africa. We would love you to come visit, though at this point we cant offer FREE accommodation. We can, however, offer your third night FREE (obviously for Couch Surfing members only).

We also run a great Non-Profit Community-based Volunteer programme with many interesting initiatives to get involved in.

PHILOSOPHY

Life is like a toilet role. When it starts out, it seems so full and fresh. But as it goes on, and is used up, it seems to run out much faster towards the end. So better cram as much into those last few sheets, whilst we still can...

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have been an active member for some time now and have hosted some people in London (where I used to live and met Amanda), and in Istanbul (where we worked for 6 months teaching English), and in Thailand. I have been involved in many CS groups and have attended many social events.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Very positive - I think that this is a fantastic idea and I hope to be an active member for a long time to come. As soon as I have somewhere to live and offer accommodation, you are very welcome

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies - mainly art house cinema, but I am into any good films or documentaries that move me emotionally. Not into crappy American flicks generally speaking. Music - My all time favourite is Bob Dylan, and I am also a big Led Zep fan. Generally I like rock, folk and the blues, but I also love getting down and dirty on the dance floor to a bit of progressive house, drum 'n bass and psychadelic trance
