About Me
CURRENT MISSION
to enjoy life and have a positive influence.
ABOUT ME
I grew up in Denver and still spend fair amount of time there. I greatly prefer the life style of the small community. I have lived all across the US as well as Europe and New Zealand. I have been in Homer sense 2012 and love it. incredibly beautiful geography and people….
PHILOSOPHY
Is not the years in your life, but the life in your years (Abe Lincoln).
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I've not traveled much lately. Friends of mine in Denver are involved and I have met many travelers through them. I look forward to people coming to my house and enjoying Homer! Its a small home and really only have floor space. I think I may get a camper for next summer and will use it for guest...
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have met many couch surfer through friends in Denver who are involved.
Interests
I also am a avid biker and skier. in the summer I also hike and backpack. I rebuild a car every few years and am in the middle of a few now. I always say when I finish one, its the last but I seem to find another one. I love live music and when I was younger lived to go to concerts. Now I go to far fewer and not nearly as wild.

Music, Movies, and Books
Not to big on movies, Baraka is a fun movie and I highly recommend it. Music, grew up on Led Zeppelin and Lynyrd Skynyrd and I love to read most anything.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Traveling the south island of New Zealand was amazing. Seeing the sun rise in the Utah desert is always amazing, If you ever see the flowers bloom in the desert you will be amazed.
Teach, Learn, Share
I hope I never stop learning both professionally and personally. I don't know if I have much to teach, I have taught alpine skiing for many years, i taught adaptive skiing for over twenty years and regular alpine skiing for a few as well. I love to share Colorado with everyone. (Now Homer)
What I Can Share with Hosts
If its early in my travels, fish. I usually leave town with a box of frozen fish with prearranged plans to find a freezer asap. I'm getting better at smoking/canning salmon and I think I'll try to bring more of that along, no freezing required.
What I can share with hosts? Metaphorically, companionship, stories. I'm an ok cook and always happy to do the dishes. If they live in a ski town I may possible offer a ski lesson, but most in that situation don't really need any lessons..
What I can share with "guest"???
This seems like a more appropriate question
Fishing!!! Hiking, sea kayaking. Things to do in Homer!?!?!?
The best thing to do in Homer in the winter time is go to Maui…. I'm updating my profile on a cold winters day.. I just returned from a walk along the beach (coastline is a better description) Very refreshing, I don't remember feeling this numb from spending time in the cold, and it's not even that cold `35-40'. In Homer we have some of the most extreme tides in the world. Its always interesting what the tide washes in.
Most of the time I'm free to play tour guide. The best time to visit this area is the summer. We have 20hr days!!! Great fishing (Halibut/salmon). Across the bay we have endless hiking. I live in town and getting around is easy, typical small town. You can take a cab from one end of town to the other for ~10$.
