About Me
I'm a student of politics and communication studies in the North of Germany and feel a drive to travel a lot. Besides university, I care for disabled people, play theatre and I am totally crazy about sports which I like doing with friends as well (we started with Freeletics some months ago - so cool!). In addition, I'm always super stoked to meet new people, especially from abroad.
I'm pretty outgoing and often yield to the human need to talk more than I remain silent ;). I love having conversations on politics, society, literature, cinematography - and I do have opinions on a large range of subjects and normally don't beat about the bush with it. This does not at all mean we have to have super deep, eloborated, philosophical, reflexive conversations concerning all the world and his brother all day long - but it's great to drink some wine (or: BEER, yay!) and have a good talk!
I've made so many lovely friends in Ireland, England, Austria or Denmark and I'm eager to extend that list. ;-)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Meeting people from all over the world is a huge enrichment to one's life - that's at least what I think of it. Intercultural exchange, especially while travelling, contributes immensly to life experience. I've had encounters during my trips which really made me see life from a different angle.
I love to think that even complete strangers are connected in some way or the other. So many things going on in the world might be prevented if people discovered this connection. Meeting people from different cultures is a first step in moving closer together.
Furthermore, I reckon that local bondings make it easier for you to get to know a new city, e.g. I believe in more than just "staying overnight" and small talk three phrases at the breakfast table. Why shouldn't I prepare a thank you meal for hosting me? ;-)

Music, Movies, and Books
I'm a total bookworm since I was a kid. I have no idea why, but bookwise I was quite premature and fell in love with Anton Cechov, Franz Kafka, Stefan Zweig and so many other authors whom you wouldn't suppose a 13-year-old to fancy. Walter Moers was more childlike, but I still adore him today. He could publish a collection of his shopping lists, I would probably head to the next book shop and buy it.
Later on, I was eager reading dystopian novels which I still recommend to friends and family (esp. "The Circle" by Dave Eggers, just fantastic!). I also admire German authors such as Goethe, Schiller, Fontane. Good thrillers by Ken Follet, Agatha Christie's mystery stories or Edgar Allan Poe's dark horror end up at my bedside table as well.
Okay, this listing makes me aware of the fact that I'm a literature freak :D
I love watching movies and I have a strong leaning towards old ones, even silent films (Charlie Chaplin is just amazing!). I watched almost all Hitchcock's and love discussing the best scenes from "Psycho" to "North by Northwest". Additionally, I have a shine to indie arthouse movies. But my taste covers actually a wide range of genres, Tarantino and Woody Allen are both compatible with it. ;-)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Well, three friends of mine and I, we organized a ball for disabled people in 2015 and 2018. Our aim is to give people with a handicap the opportunity to celebrate something similar to a prom. Most never had the opportunity to attend such an event. The smiles on the faces of our guests and their families were worth every second of hard work we put in the planning. It was an amazing night and a repetition is in the making ;-)
Moreover, I wrote a play with friends during the end of school time and we performed it on stage. That's been really amazing and definitely one of the most exciting things I've ever done!
