ABOUT ME
Erhm, why is it so hard to describe oneself?
Oh well, I would say that in the right company I'm quit talkative, eager to debate and discuss virtually any topic. I really enjoy it when you click with somebody and can talk enthusiastically for ages.
I have a tendency to remember random facts that seem irrelevant to other people.
I enjoy building things, whether it's making a cool app (programming) or brewing my own beer. Even if it's hard work, there's always a sense of satisfaction and achievement when you manage to create something.
I would say I find learning (whatever it is) fascinating as I'm naturally curious. When you start a new thing (say playing a sport or learning a language) you see people that do that task so easily and you can barely grasp the basics. You think that you will never be able to master it at all. Yet, as time goes by you know more about it, do it better, and slowly but surely you find yourself doing things you didn't think were possible, things that you thought only others could do. You look back at when you started and you can barely believe you have learnt so much in such a short time. It's truly an amazing process.
In a sense, if you have an open mind and enjoy the journey, so to speak, you can do almost anything.
PHILOSOPHY
Don't fall for dogma: No matter how strongly you believe in something, accept that all our ideals are subjective and therefore people that hold opposite ideas are not 'evil' or 'wrong' but they just have a different view of the world. Try to understand why they think the way they do.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've recently hosted an lovely couple from Seattle. It was a good first experience: we visited various places in London together and cooked meals for each other.
I've also hosted another couple from Canada, both of whom were design students so we had quite interesting discussions!
Most recently, an entrepraneurial girl from Singapore and a Croatian couples stayed at home.
Next week I'll be travelling to the US where I'll be staying with some couchsurfers.
