About Me
CURRENT MISSION
I'm looking for those moments in those places with those people that make you stop and think about how much you love your life.
ABOUT ME
I'm the daughter of first-generation immigrants to the United States, an Indian doctor and a Filipina nurse, which I think is ironically typical. Thankfully, they instilled an irrational desire to travel within me.
I lived in Spain and Italy teaching English in order to avoid the scary cubicle-and-coffee-filled adult world in the United States. I tried to go home for a while and be an adult and realized I wasn't done being a kid yet! I just finished a year long teaching contract in South Korea and I'm so ready for my next adventure - 8 months of endless funemployment while backpacking Southeast Asia.
I've been described as "an explosion of a person," "ridiculous," "insane," "intense," and "Energizer batteries in human form." I take them all as compliments.
I love meeting new, interesting people and doing things I've never done before. I'll try anything twice (because, you know, that first try could have always been a fluke). I'm that girl that will jump in the ice-cold waterfall with you in February or that will share the pigeon/alligator/frog legs/goat local dish just to say you've tried it.
I'm a sucker for great views and fireworks.
PHILOSOPHY
Hay que aprovechar. Take advantage of every second and realize that sleep is only for trains, planes, and when you're home on a Sunday afternoon and you've turned off your cell phone and unplugged the landline. (Side note: I'm getting old and sleep is becoming more and more a part of my life.)
Interests
Traveling is my one healthy addiction. My new life goal is to be a part-time snowboarder, part-time surfer, and learn to play the harmonica. Because it's a really portable instrument. I'm also a fiend for learning languages, eating, cooking, and any kind of outdoor activity.
