ABOUT ME

Hi guys and gals, my names Nic! I'm an aspiring young traveler who's got a knack for tending bar. I've finally found a job that doesn't quite feel like work and I'm going to use it to my advantage by bartending at any and all bars possible around the world! Along with a passion for all things bar, I'm also an accomplished bagpipe player and have been playing almost half of my life time. I've played a vast number of instruments but bagpipes stuck. Some examples of my other passions are as follows: Burning Man in Black Rock Desert Nevada, World religions, photography, Yoga and Meditation, sight-seeing, immediacy, poi spinning, biking, swimming, walking, kayaking, networking, talking to strangers. I've got drive and I'm going places. This is just my beginning.

PHILOSOPHY

This seem's more like a talk to have face to face, but I've had some extreme situations over the years. I lost my mother 2 months before my high school graduation and my cousin a week after her. It made me realize how short life is. Going to Burning Man I felt there was no way I could see everything out there, then I came to find out the world is just one big art project. I want to see as much of it as possible before I kick the bucket! I'm not afraid to try things that scare me or I'm not accustomed to. The purpose of life is to find your gift, the meaning of life is to share that gift. And BOY do I have a lot of gifts to share! :)

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm a doer. I consistently find new projects to work on and when I say I'm going to do something I go all in and try to involve others as much as possible. I'm a Burning Man attendee and absolutely love new connections, the way I see it, we should all talk to strangers more often - - those are potential best friends! I'm extremely precise, my mother was an event planner so I think she's to blame for that! It is next to impossible for me to not like someone, I try to see the positives out of everything and hope those around me will do the same!

None at all, my cousin traveled cross-country and said this is the site I need to be on! I'm extremely excited to see where things will take me!

Interests

Oh boy, there are many - - bartending, bagpiping, music theory, photography, sight-seeing, The Burning Man festival in Nevada, the great outdoors, kayaking, biking, swimming, hiking, snorkeling, helping others achieve their goals, learning of other cultures, meditation, yoga, longboarding, spinning poi, cards and that's all I can think of off the top of my head. Just about anything floats my boat!

Music, Movies, and Books

Books: The Secret, Against the Stream, The Translucent Revolution. I'm not an avid reader simply because I spend most of my time doing something active, but a nice read in the morning or night is fantastic.
Movies: Anything to make me laugh or scare the crap out of me! Again, not a big movie fanatic but every once in a while it is great, especially if it's raining!
Music: Literally everything. Bagpipes, Pop, Opera, Rap, Classical, EDM, Rock, Death Metal, Trance, Reggae. Nothing I don't like!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I overcame the loss of my mother right before my 18th birthday and graduation from High School with a smile. She taught me to be everything I am in one way or another. I grew up hating her, but losing her I realized everything I hadn't before which taught me so many things. Things I would much enjoy telling the world.

Teach, Learn, Share

I really like this section a lot, it's vital to the process. I believe the meaning in life is to find your gift but the purpose is to share that gift. I have many gifts to share! I can show you some flow art tricks, I can teach you how to make delicious drinks, I can play you a jig on my bagpipes; whatever it may be all I ask in return is a smile and open heart/mind.

There's nothing I really expect to learn because most of the time the best teachings happen indirectly. I do pick up on things rather quick so I'm sure you'd have no problem captivating me by what you do!
