About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I travel to see the way others see. I am most interested in experiencing different cuisines around the world.

ABOUT ME

I am fascinated with art, in every aspect of life. My passion is in music but I am also interested in paint and writing. I love cooking! I love the outdoors! I keep a pair of climbing shoes and a roll of tape in my backpack at all times! I've done a little bit of mountain biking, plenty of hiking and camping. I love being in the mountains. It's a vice that cannot be measured.

PHILOSOPHY

"As for the few fortunate ones who have no call to take a hand in any strife or struggle, who not only have all the time there is, but a great deal that they cannot dispose of with any satisfaction to themselves or anybody else - I am not writing for them; but only to those of the world's workers who go, or would like to go, every summer to the woods. And to these I would say, don't rough it; make it as smooth, as restful and pleasurable as you can." -Nessmuk, Woodcraft and Camping

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

While I can't host right now at my house, I can take people to local camp areas. I know quite a bit of the southern Utah area and northern Arizona. I would love to show people some of this beautiful red rock country. If you're looking for some less than common hiking or camping, hit me up.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: I'm a big fan of Paul Newman. I think The Shawshank Redemption, The Edukators and Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels are some of my top films. Fight Club..

Music: Lately it's been a lot of Blues. Jack White is probably my number one. The Black Keys as well as the very old classics: Son House, Muddy Waters, Leadbelly, Howlin' Wolf... to name a few. I'm also into a fair amount of indie music. I'm generally against fm radio and just pop in general. Not to say that there isn't good pop music but it isn't my forte.

Books: Stephen King's memoir 'On Writing' is, I think, one of the greatest books. I highly recommend it! Ray Bradbury has been a huge influence to me.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

There is a sort of primitive location along the Grand Canyon in Arizona that is about 2 hours from where I grew up. I think it is the most amazing place I have ever been. I try to visit regularly. When I was younger I went to Hawaii and it is one of the most memorable places that I have been as well.

Teach, Learn, Share

Cooking, music, climbing and art in general. I would love to share my experience in these as well as grow and learn in each.
