Hello, my name is Nico, I am 22 years old and currently I am an exchange student from Berne, Switzerland at the University of Technology in Sydney. I study there till the end of october but stay and travel in Australia till the end of January.

It is the first time I use couchsurfing. I heard about this great platform some month ago and love the idea. I hope to get in contact with some locals who would like to show me around and enjoy some acitivities with me.

Next to university, I like to get my education in the „real“ world while travelling. I have been to North America, South America and almost every country in Europe. Even though I am living my life on a shoelace budget, I could realize these travels. Most of the time I worked at hostels and farms for accomodation and food. (Workaway is my favourite platform which provides such work opportunities.)

I am a sociable and friendly guy who has a lot of energy. I like to try new things and get different impressions of the world. I am really sporty and pretty talented in a lot of sports.

I am interested in cultures and love to share different point of views. The reason why I chose Australia for my exchange semester are the Aussies I met through my travels. Especially the ones in Mexico let me fall in love with the aussie mentality.

After I finish my studies in about 2 years, my plan is to travel the world for an indefinite amount of time. Actually I cant wait to finish my studies..

I'm an open minded student who likes to interact with people and learn about their culture. At the moment I'm looking for some local Aussies who would like to show me some of their favourite places or just give me some insider tipps for places, activities or generally travelling in Australia.

Music, Movies, and Books

My favourite artists at the moment are Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton and Pink Floyd because I recently started to play the guitar. ( Already improved a lot and able to play purple haze from Jimi)

Favourite book at the moment is the alchemist.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Travelled through Mexico and Colombia last year. Was the best time of my life. Met awesome people and had crazy adventures.
