About Me

Quite talkative, music-aholic and enthusiastic.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To both host and surf, yet at the moment it should be easier for me to host.

Interests

Non exhaustive list includes:
- music listening and playing (guitar / flute / singing)
- ecology, nature, trecking
- cooking
- storytelling (I did storytelling, would make it again with pleasure)
- reading books (novels, tales, some poetry or philosophy)
- vietnamese martial arts: võ viêt nam, then sa long cương
- meeting and talking with new people
- speaking / learning foreign languages
- having good times with friends (restaurant, parties, discussions, cinema...)
- masonry (old stone houses or walls building...)
- candle-lighted evenings and nights
- computer science (programming in python, linux user)

I really like talking and, provided you're passionate, I think you can talk about almost everything with me.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: my preferred bands ever are Belle and Sebastian, Herman Düne, Elliott Smith, Tom Waits, Bonnie 'Prince' Billy, Iron and Wine, Rufus Wainwright, Beck... More details here: http://www.lastfm.fr/user/nico_h/

Short list of my favorite authors: Giono, Vian, Dumas, Dostoïevski, Gogol, Steinbeck, Hoffmann, Orwell, Wilkie Collins...

Movies: as well old as new movies (Fritz Lang, Murnau, Chaplin, Keaton / JP Jeunet, J. Jarmush, Kusturica, Miyazaki, Michel Ocelot, Ken Loach, Tim Burton..). I'm afraid I don't like much "mainstream" movies.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Don't remember anything special

Teach, Learn, Share

Though I am not a teacher about all these topics, I may provide help about:
- linux (or get rid of windows :o) and programming (mainly python)
- guitar, flute, singing (though I am no teacher for either, maybe I can help beginners)
- maths (but maybe not at a university level :o)
- french, german or english

I like alot playing songs and singing together with anyone :o) I know a lot of songs but not so many very-well-known songs.

I would appreciate to share tricks to live in a more ecological way.

I also appreciate story telling (listening to or telling myself).

I'd be glad to share anything about cooking. Maybe I can show you how to cook some french dishes.

I'd like to learn a new language. But I miss time for it at the moment. Yet I am always interested in all languages one can imagine.

What I Can Share with Hosts

A meal and good discussion. Couch Surfing has this nice side to allow low cost travels, but it's not a free hostel. Sharing time, discussion around a nice meal with one's hosts belongs to the experience, in my opinion.

Countries I’ve Visited

China, England, Italy, Morocco, Romania, Spain, Turkey

Countries I’ve Lived In

France, Germany, United Kingdom
