ABOUT ME

We are a family of 4 - Nicola and Chris, with 2 kids, Lewis, 19 years old, and Evie, 17 years old. We love to travel, but can't as much as we'd like to, so we are looking forward to hosting until our next trip somewhere! We are pretty nice people!

PHILOSOPHY

Every day feel grateful that I have good health, the love of family and friends, security and safety, the opportunity to express myself, the opportunity to learn and grow. And then, give something back!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We have hosted quite a few people over the last few years, including a few families. I have had wonderful experiences in Indonesia with couchsurfing friends who are now like family.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We have met many wonderful people through couchsurfing, and have enjoyed both getting to make new friends from around the world, and also showing off our fabulous town, Newcastle.

Interests

Many and varied interests in our family... Nicola is interested in social and political engagement; Chris plays guitar and writes poems; Evie loves to read Sherrilyn Kenyon novels and go to the movies; Lewy is studying linguistics and is into gaming.

Music, Movies, and Books

All have different favourites! I love the Aussie talent - Nick Cave, You Am I, Eddie Current Suppression Ring, Hilltop Hoods etc. Well, we all do really. Lewy is into hardcore as well as everything else [from mumford and sons, and david bowie, to whitechapel and iron maiden] We all love live music, festivals etc.Eva loves hip hop, gothic songs and some of Lewis's songs .

The one and only Leonard Cohen! Nick Cave - front row!!!!!!! Great live music experiences.

Travel-wise... Easter and Pessach in Jerusalem - it doesn't get much better than that! Travelling as a family and sharing extraordinary cultural experiences... all amazing!

Hey, just took part in a Spencer Tunick nude art installation at the Opera House - now that was amazing!!!

Teach, Learn, Share

hmmm... the boys would definitely like to share their music - play or jam with others. We probably have more to learn than to offer, and of course a few more languages wouldn't go astray :P We would love to share our beautiful town and explore things we have in common, or things we can offer each other!
