About Me

I live in Minneapolis, Minnesota and am midwest USA born and raised. I have a wonderful dog (not traveling with me) that is 150 lbs and I have a million pictures of him. I've been working on and off as a barista for almost 15 years as well as a few other significantly more boring jobs along the way. I try to move through the world in a way to leave things as good or better as they were when I found them.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Lifelong traveler currently taking a pause from the 9 to 5 after a layoff. I love to share stories from the road and learn about the people I meet and the places they call home.

I have hosted and been hosted a fair bit back in the 2010s and I am eager to be back.

Interests

Avid video game enthusiast in the cold times, lover of distance cycling in the warm times.

I enjoy cooking meals from a recipe, but am still on the quest to become a better "weeknight" improvisational cook.

I help organize in the underground music scene (i.e. throw all night warehouse techno raves) back home ^_^

Music, Movies, and Books

Live music is my favorite kind, but I tend to get the most out of a mosh pit or a dark and dusty warehouse. Let's talk about the way that music subgenres emerge and evolve.

I've never been much for movies but I can quote ~a few~ of the classics.

When I read, I like to get lost in a fantasy (sword and sorcery) world or deep dive on a particular non-fiction topic.

Retro video games are a passion of mine and I love to hear about your favorite video game stories.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

There once was an American who lead his Couchsurfers from Canada and China through the German Alps. It was an honor to show such a beautiful part of the place I had the pleasure of briefly calling home to two awesome people from different parts of the world.

Teach, Learn, Share

I would love to cook a meal for/with you and teach the things I've learned from making tons of mistakes in the kitchen.

I am eager to learn what kind of music makes you dance (or nod your head).

Let's share a pot of coffee/tea and swap stories!

What I Can Share with Hosts

One of my greatest pleasures in travel is to go learn about the place I am visiting to the point that I can make a restaurant/activity recommendation of my own to my host/new friends.

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Hungary, Mexico, Netherlands, Switzerland, United Kingdom

Countries I’ve Lived In
