Chi sono
I'm currently working abroad as an English assistant in Nîmes, France in a primary school. This is my second time living abroad in France and I love be able to travel so cheaply (compared to living in the US where it costs at least $1000 to get anywhere outside the country...)
I'm a trained opera singer, but have teaching and traveling/living in France ever since I graduated. I still love to sing and perform but my love of travel has taken over recently! I love to talk and get to know new people and figure out what makes them tick if they're willing to share with me!
#funfacts I also have a laugh that can be heard for miles
Perché sono iscritto su Couchsurfing
The people I meet while traveling are always the most fascinating interesting people. I love to pick their minds about their ways of life and how they see the world and to grow from it myself. Couchsurfing is such a convenient way to meet these people like that and it helps foster new relationships and then you can say "Oh yeah, I have a friend living on the other side of the planet!" How cool is that?!
Interessi
I studied classical voice (opera, basically) in college, but have been living in France and teaching English since I graduated. I absolutely love to teach as much as I love to perform and am trying to find the balance between the two.
I know, among everything in my lists of interests, trains must look so bizarre. I wish I had an explanation as to why I love them so much, but I really don't. But whenever I see one going by, I will completely forget everything around me

Musica, film e libri
As of late, I've been obsessed with the classic jazz songstresses...Sarah Vaughan, Dinah Washington, Carmen McRae, etc., so basically any jazz standard (esp. torch songs) will tickle my fancy. Otherwise, I'm all about the R&B and some pop, too. Beyoncé is always #1, but I love me some Jill Scott, Janelle Monae, MJB, Jazmine Sullivan, etc etc.
And of course, I do have a love of opera, although it's started to take a back seat as I explore other genres of music. That being said, I'm a die hard fan of pretty much any Romantic piece/composer. Puccini, Verdi, Poulenc, Debussy and Strauss are some favorite composers, and Maria Callas will always be my reigning opera queen!
As far as movies or books, I rarely watch/read them :/ I always say I'm going to but alas... That being said, anything with a sarcastic tone and dry sense of humor will always get my attention.
Una cosa incredibile che ho fatto
So far, I'd say the most amazing thing I've done is live on my own in a foreign country. You learn so much about yourself and your own culture while learning about another, and I'm always stupefied that I've done that!
Cosa posso offrire ai padroni di casa
This is gonna get cheesy.
I am a chatterbox once I feel comfortable with you and I absolutely love to hear peoples life stories and see where they've been, how they got to where they are, I find it to be utterly fascinating. So I guess what I have to offer is open ears and an open heart :) (thats the cheesy part)
