About Me
Please, read "my home" section carefully to avoid any misunderstandings.
I want to clarify this since it’s quite important - I do find any romantic and/or sexual advances inappropriate for this platform, there are other apps for those. Please, don’t do that.
Also, please don’t add me as friends if we haven’t actually met.
Hey, I'm Nikita, 26. My whole life I've lived in Perm, Russia and barely traveled anywhere. Heck, while working I could stay home for days ordering in and inviting people over but not leaving my apartment. I'd spend most of my time working, watching Netflix and petting my cat. After moving to Armenia in 2022 I had to crawl out of my comfort zone and realized that there's so much to see and travel to. Since then I've traveled across the whole Armenia by car, by foot (mostly hiking) and (thanks to my close friend that introduced me to it) hitchhiking.
Also I'm a coffee enthusiast and most of the time I carry a bag of coffee, aeropress and hario slim with me :)
If I don’t reply, feel free to contact me

I don't have an opportunity to host often since I'm sharing a flat with 2 roommates, but having been helped by so many strangers (a lot of whom would become friends later) I'm hopefully looking to a day when I can get my own place and give back as much help, as I've received.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I rarely went anywhere when I lived in Russia since I've had this notion that it's super expensive and I even kept that in my head while traveling in Armenia (it was still expensive but we rented a car for 4-5 people so that was tolerable) but then a friend of mine who introduced me to hitchhiking also mentioned she often uses couchserfing, and I, being inspired by hitchhiking and meeting of lot of interesting people in progress, being able to share my stories and listen to theirs, decided that I should give it a go.
A lot of people advice to search for the people with most common interests and stuff like that, but you know, I've hitchhiked a lot in the past few months and people who pick you up - you don't choose them to send requests, you have no idea about their interests, they are completely random strangers but most of the times they never cease to amaze you with stories they tell and sincere conversations you can have with them. As a hitchhiker first and couchserfer second, I defy to only seek hosts and surfers who are "most likely" would have a match with you. For me it's often interesting to meet people who have a different, maybe even the opposite way of life and values. Yeah, it might be the most boring cs experience you've ever had, but this could also be an opportunity to see the world from the angle you would not have even tried by yourself. I would like that
As a host: I've been helped by strangers (including CS) countless times so I want to help back :)

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: I'd say something towards rock, indie and related areas, non-exhaustive list of top artists would include Skillet, Imagine Dragons, Three Days Grace, Thousand Foot Krutch, Of Monster and Men, Paper Aeroplanes, Nickelback and lots more
Also in 2021 I started listening to some of the russian music, among the favorites I should list Nervy (my absolute favorite non-English artist), Anacondaz, Pornofilmy
Movies: actually, I'll probably watch anything in comedy/action/drama genres, but I'm really into comicbook-based movies though
I haven't been actively reading in a while, mostly binging new series from time to time and then doing nothing for a year, but my all-time favourite book is Harry Potter, of course. I love scifi and fantasy, so that list would include LoTR, The Witcher, The Song of Ice and Fire, most of Stephen King and Howard Lovecraft. I also read comics and manga
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I'm inclined to say that I once crossed a lake in Alaska on a canoe I found by the shore
I learned how to hitchhike because I was broke and the girl I like lived in another town
I befriended a director of the semi-abandoned fireproof material factory while exploring it
