About Me

I am Ping Liu!My english name is Nikki and since "Ping "is apple in Chinese,my Japanese name is "ringoりんご" :)
I am born and raised in New Taipei City,Taiwan.
Currently majoring in Japanese Language in Taiwan University.
love to laugh and always smile :D
EXCHANGE
I haven't travel many countries but I do love traveling. My curiosity about different cultures aroused my desire to obtain more information about international affairs and strongly motivated me to be an exchange student. I was an exchange student when I was 15 years old.I went to Minnesota,USA and had lots of cool experience. I love the feeling of using completely different language to talk, communicate and share my own culture with people. That's the main reason why I decided to major in Japanese. I think languages are AMAZING.And I love Japanese culture and language as well.
MUSIC
I love music :)
I play the piano, and the Taiwanese kind of instrument called "guzheng"(koto, zither) and also learning guitar and flute. :) I love playing these instrument and make our own music with friends!! love sharing my music with others. I like to sing, play the guzheng (or Chinese zither), piano, flute and ukulele.
During my exchange year in the US, I performed a lot in the town because of my knowledge of the unique instrument the guzheng. I played the guzheng in music lessons in the American elementary school and not only taught them about Chinese music, but also shared some Taiwanese culture! I even played with the ukulele orchestra and the concert band, they were great combinations! I keep trying to find new way to “play” music! I have made videos of myself playing songs using four instruments, and I also performed with student cellists in school many times. Music can be creative!
VOLUNTEERING
Volunteer experience has instilled in me the importance of caring for people and cooperating with each other. I have met many great people during while volunteering and gained new ideas toward different issues. I have been a coordinator of a language camp, a patrol leader of a leadership camp, chief coordinator of the exchange students’ returnee club and a minister of public relation of the service club during the past three years.
