About Me

My current mission: To learn from everything, live in the present, accept, talk less, listen more, and breathe. Basically...yoga.

ABOUT

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I want to meet people (travelers or locals) with interesting outlooks who maybe live life a bit differently and who share my sense of curiosity, adventure and enjoyment of the little things. I've had amazing experiences with Air BnB but I like the more 'community' feel of couchsurfing.

Interests

Music (any sort, especially live), festivals, living in beautiful places, simple things- good food, wine, guitar and beers round a fire, walking on cold sunny days, the sea (not a fan of water sports but it still fascinates me), exploring new cities and getting lost, sharing stories with new friends, taking photos, seeking out local people and cultures in every new place I visit or live- I try not to be a tourist!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

*Camping in the Kimberleys, WA...real outback, just me and a group of friends I'd met only a week before (from six different countries), nowhere near a campsite or civilisation, just red dirt, red rocks, baob trees, someone playing guitar and didgeridoo, campfire, the most stars I've ever seen in my life, and lying in my tent without the cover (it was hot) watching shooting stars above me.

*Getting close to Komodo dragons in the wild on Komodo Island, Indonesia...terrifying but exciting, and an animal I've wanted to see since being inspired by David Attenborough!

*Abseiling down a mountain in Victoria, Australia at sunset on my 30th birthday with a few friends and minimal instruction from my wwoofing host, then having a picnic of wine and fajitas on a rock ledge half way down while the sun set.

Teach, Learn, Share

At the moment I want to learn so many things...and I think I'm a natural teacher when it's something I really believe in :-)
