About Me

Hi guys!
So I have basically just started here and I heard that it can be a little difficult to find a place to stay at on couchsurfing, especially in the beginning. But I feel like I need to start somewhere and at some point. So thats what I am doing now :)

My name is Niklas, I am 24 years old and I am from Germany (so far so good)..
I started traveling in 2014, I spent almost a year in Canada and the US and now I am in South America, travelling with a very good friend of mine for about 4 months.

Travelling to me has been very important during the last 2 years and I really like what its doing to me to this day. Its a great way to view the whole world and people and society from another perspective. I have learnt a lot about myself and I am learning about myself and everything else (basically) every day.

Sooooooo enough with the sentimental stuff. Let me tell you about things I like, dont like and things I like to do and..yeah, dont like to do.

I like:
Sunny days
Clouds
Smiles
Trees
Nature
Water
Faces
Rain
Music (read further below)
Drinks
Parties
..
talking to people
Rainbows
Reading
Snow
Languages
Honesty
Passion
Compassion
Kindness
Feelings
Possivity
Sleeping
Dreaming
Eating
Breathing
..
And lots of other things. Because the World is whaaat..beautiful. :)

My hobbies:
I enjoy getting to know people and cultures, learning Languages and being in the moment. I started to really really like hiking and exploring nature, wherever I go. I like swimming and yeah, these are basically all of the sports that I am 'good' at, to be honest haha. But I can also get excited for any other sports, if I meet the right person to motivate me :). I also enjoy reading a lot more than in the past, before travelling. No perticular book m just reading in general. Its true.

Music:
Of course I like music, because I am a human bring with feelings, so heres a little 'collection' of music I like to listen to recentely.

Bon Iver
Andrew Bird
Pixies
Fka twigs
Alt J
Fleetwood Mac
Father John Misty
Jamie xx
James Blake
Frank Ocean
SZA
Queen
Simon&Garfunkel
And lots more..I pretty much listen to all kinds of music and am always happy to find out about a new artists or bands that I would like. I also enjoy seeing live music and festivals and all that stuff :)

So thats it for now I guess, as soon as I can think of any more things about myself that I would consider to be interesting I will let you know :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I always want es to try couchsurfing because I think its a great way to connect with people and even stay connected afterwards. Getting insider tips and staying somewhere for free is fun too. I would like to completely be a part of this community and be able to do couchsurfing a lot more often in the future. Because its great! :)

Interests

I like art and music, movies and sketching, writing and reading, singing, I would love to learn how to play the piano and the trumpet. I like hiking and swimming, going out for a drink or a chat with interesting people, traveling, learning about languages, cultures and peoples experiences in life so that it would affect mine in a (positive) way. I enjoy cooking even though I am not really good at it. Its more about the exciting thing to try things out and see if they work together :)

Music, Movies, and Books

I have already listed some music I like and none of it is my favourite, I like ALL of them. Why do we have to decide anyway, right? Exactely.

I like everything that Tarantino did in his career, Alfred Hitchcock, Harmony Korine..and old Disney movies haha. But my favorite movies right now are Philadelphia and the Lion King. Oh damn I have just realized that I really like the ghostbusters as well! As you can see, its hard to decide :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I once hiked in the Colca Canyon in Peru and after about 3 days of pain and exhaustion, there was a landslide on the road and we couldnt pass. But there was no option but to pass because otherwise we would have had to walk ALL the way back to the entrance, and that wouldve taken us another 3 days. Luckily we met a local woman who offered us her help. So we went back to the landslide and she started to 'build' a path over the landslide, using her shuffle. She grabbed our hands and walked on her path with us together to the other side of the road. I think I wasnt really scared of whats going to happen because I had trust in that woman, even though I didnt really know her. After we got over the landslide, we were able to continue our hike till the end and we saw some amazing amazing views in the canyon and many breathtaking sunsets.

Teach, Learn, Share

I am not quite sure what that means but I guess these are 3 things that go really close together :) you learn what people teach you and you share what youve learned. OR you teach and learn from the people youve taught at the same time and keep on sharing what youve learned in your past before you started teached in the first place. I could go on and on with this :)

Words
Meaning
What do they mean? What do you mean? What does it all have to do with the price of rice in China?..Nothing.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I think I can share my ability to stay positive and just go with the flow, I am easy to hang out with and always nice and sweet and polite :), I have a lot of respect for people who offer their home to become someone elses home for a short time. That is a very kind and nice thing to do. So I will always show my respect and gratefulness (is that a word? Hm) to the Person I get to stay at. And I am very funny too, sometimes :)
