ABOUT ME

I was born early 1978 when there was no pc, no color tv and no music by Prince. I grew up without brothers or sisters, discovering the world on my own. My parents took me around Europe and we also visited Asia and North-Africa a couple of times. As soon as I became a student I started doing city-trips to European metropoles and to New York. I'm happily maried to Ria and we have a lovely daughter called Olivia (born 2007). I work as a graphic designer mainly, but I also teach Dutch and English to highschool students. I quit a desk job a while ago and got back upon the adventurous track I was on before I settled.

PHILOSOPHY

If life on Earth is no more than an illusion, given the boundaries that result from space and time, let's all enjoy it every single minute.

I just love to travel around the world from time to time and host some international guests too.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I visited New York recently and compared to the previous times I was there this visit was even more amazing! A real hit, because of the great feeling of staying with actual human beings instead of a costly and highly unpersonal hotel room.

Music, Movies, and Books

Just coming up into my mind: Prince, J.J.Cale, Emmylou Harris, !!!, Paul Arden books, G.G.Marquez, The Big Lebowski, The Ninth gate, Magnolia, the Beatles, etc.etc.etc. All kinds of great designs, be it in art, architecture, music, books or whatever. When people open there hearts, they get quite creative from time to time.
My wife and i have a huuuuuge collection of both cds, dvds and books (many of them in English) so I dare you to be bored when staying with us. :-)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I can't come up with one thing which is really mindblowing. I think my life hasn't known any real extremes so far. But on the other hand, I have seen many, many different things since early childhood. Different cultures, very different kinds of houses I lived in, and a crazy father dealing with a different project every six months.
On the other hand I also could have just answered: New York, New York!

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach: to look at life from a different perspective, broadening your conscienceness and making the world a more beautiful place to spend your time.
I want to learn: everything you may want to teach me.
