About Me

Hi guys,
Thanks for visiting Sri Lanka.

About me:- 😎
I'm more like a host and not a surfer. As my plans could change at anytime, I don't wanna disappoint my hosts. So i rarely stays with hosts. I'm not olny host at my place. Even when i'm travelling i could also host at where i'm styaing at.
I'm a frequent traveller. I'm a type of guy that only God knows where i will be waking up next morning. 😆
I like to meet Cheerful people from different cultures around the world. I live in Nuwaraeliya and Colombo both. When i'm In Colombo, normally i'm more busy. So I don't host in Colombo. But, as i live very near to the department of immigration and if you need any help regarding visa extension or if you need someone to show you arround in Colombo, you can drop me a message.

So, I guess you are in! Welcome to Sri Lanka 🙏.

🔱🔱🔱🔱🔱🔱🔱🔱🔱🔱🔱

For the first time travellers in Sri Lanka :-👇

Most of the Sri Lankans are kind hearted and very good in guest hospitality. Their attitude is - Happy go Lucky.
But, there are few jerks around too. So just don't trust anyone so easy.

(1). While you are travelling around the island you should have a mosquito repellent cream/oil and mosquito repellent vaporizer which you can plug it in to power socket in the room, It keeps mosquitoes away and you can have a good long sleep and you can stay away from dengui fever. 🤒
Mortein is the best brand.

(2). Buy a local Prepaid sim card at colombo airport when you arrived to take calls and to connect to internet. Dialog sim card is the best with signal coverage. Top up Rs1000(LKR) and you will be fine for few days. 🤳

(3). Buying a ticket to travel on trains and busses in Sri Lanka doesn't guarantee you a seat. 🚌☹️🚆
If you need a seat you have to book a seat in advance at stations or using a Dailog or Mobitel sim card you can book your train seats. For that you should top up cash first and then use it to book your seats. Dialing 444 you can book seats.
name of service is Dial for it. When you dial 444 from a Dialog phone they are giving instructions.
You also can book bus seats. But only to few selected areas. As an Example:- After dialing 444. Then press 1 for English language another 1 for mobile tickets and then 3 for bus tickets and then number 1 and 2 for two different bus services. If you need to reserve train tickets dial 4 after selecting english as language and after selecting mobile tickets. Remember, you have to book train tickets at least 2 hours earlier to the original departure time of train. Original departure time means the time that Train starts it's journey from very first place. Booking and reserving your seat will be more expensive than just buying a train ticket.
Ex:- if booked dialing 444 Rs700. If just buy a ticket and catching a seat Rs380.
When you reserve tickets dialing 444 using a dialog sim card, they charge your mobile number. (So you should have enough credits in your phone number) They send a sms to your phone number. So at train station, you can show it to the ticket counter and they will give you the printed ticket. (My advice is to you to book your ticket early as much as you can. Because those seats always go "sold out" very fast.

(4). ☕🍽️ Where ever you travel in sri lanka, look for a Hela bojun hala cafe or restaurant. (හෙලබොජුන් හල) It's a government controlled cafe chain which provide vegetarian food for very low price. Local ladies are preparing traditional local food. It's the cheapest and cleanest with reasonable quality comparing to what you pay. There are fake Hela bojun hala restaurants which is not original. So make sure you go to the government operating one. Go to this link and have a look.

(5). .🥃 ⚠️ 😥👮️Extra careful when you travel alone and always keep your belongings with you in crowded areas and beach areas. If someone is trying to be very friendly with you or offering things for free, you definitely should be extra careful. First they will try to be friendly with you and win your trust and then make you stay with them for free. But in the end they gonna steal everything you have. Also be very careful with your food and drinks especially at small restaurants in beach areas. They could easily make you drunk or high by adding some drug to your drink or meal. specially to your drink. So always watch your drink. Beach areas comunity is kind of united and even it's hard for police to control. So anything goes wrong, nothing good will come your way quickly and will take ages to solove the problems and it will destroy your whole vacation. It's the same story with tuk tuk drivers almost every where in the island. So, stay safe. Never get alone after parties in beach areas.

(6). 🛂🏎️ 🏍️🤫If you wish to drive a car or ride a motorcycle in Sri lanka,
Starting from April 15th 2024, you can get Sri lanlan driving license at the airport and charge will be $25 for a month.
Or not, later you need to go to Department of Motor Traffic DMT RMV and get a temporary driving licence. Address is Department of Motor Traffic Rd, Werahera, Boralesgamuwa. ( about one hour ride from Colombo) Rs1000 - Rs 2000 will be the charge. You should take your current driving licence and a copy, your passport and copy of details page, and photos. There are near by comunication service points you can get your photo copies in there. If you drive without proper sri lankan licence, police will give you ticketpolice👮️. So if police stops you, don't speak in English language, just use some other language that they don't understand. This could help you to avoid getting a ticket.
(Just having an International license with you is not enough to drive in sri lanka)

🤷☹️You can also convert your driving licence to a permit to drive in Sri Lanka at Automobile association of Sri Lanka. It's located in Colombo, near Galle face. But, if you don't have a licence to ride a scooter bike in your country, then they can't issue you a permit to ride a scooter bike in Sri Lanka. They just can convert your original license to a permit to drive in Sri Lanka. And also price is so high in there and most of the time they are trying to issue you a membership which cost you a lot. They just trying to rip you off. There permit is also very expensive.

(7). 😫😪🤧🤕🤒 Medicin and Doctor's are free of charge in Government hospitals for locals and tourists as well. Even if you hospitalized or having a surgery it's free. But if you like, you can leave some donation. 🚻☸️

(8). 🍇🍅🍌🥩🍗🍞If you need to buy grocerys, best places are the supper markets. In supper markets it's the same price for locals and tourists. In many other shops they could cheat and give you a higher price.
(Supper markets in Nuwaraeliya:- Cargills or Keels Supper K)

(9). ✔️💲(save your cash)
In Sri Lanka we are having weekend markets and in some towns it runs on week days too. We call it "pola" (පොල) that's the place locals are buying their provitions and weekly needs for a better price. Always cheaper than central market.

(10).🚕 tuktuk prices are more expensive in the night. Pick me and uber works well in colombo and near by towns. Always ask the price to the exact location before you hire it.

(11). 🚻On the way to somewhere if you need to use a toilet, just go to cargils food city supper market or supper K keels supper market. It's free and most of the time it's clean.

(12). ☸️ You are reading this because return of a good karma. (Reaction of a action which you made in the past. Maybe in past lives)
Intention + Volition = Karma.

Welcome 🙏 to the paradise.

Everything in life is impermanent and always changing.

Because nothing is permanent, a life based on possessing things or persons doesn't make you happy.

There is no eternal, unchanging soul and "self" is just a collection of changing characteristics or attributes.

My goal is to become enlightened and reach nirvana. Nirvana is believed to be attainable only with the elimination of all greed, hatred, and ignorance within a person. Nirvana signifies the end of the cycle of death and rebirth.
🙏
