About Me

I'm just starting my travelling adventures at the very beautiful and uncertain age of 20 something and since adventure is bound to stay key word to my experience, I thought couchsurfing would be a great touch to the whole. Plus, I'm a genuinely curious person and I would more than love to meet people from all over the world that can answer to all of my (probably) silly questions and engage with me in honest conversations about pretty much everything.

I am currently doing a semester abroad in Leipzig, but up until now I've lived in a cool student city in Romania, Cluj-Napoca, where I've started university, as well as doing volunteering for a student association and generally keeping myself busy with anything that had to do with my self-development. So yeah, I am very interested in new things, experiences and ideas and that is also why I decided to do this Erasmus stage that will last until the end of August this year.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm looking for places to stay in the cities I'll be visiting this next half year, probably mostly in Germany, but maybe also Europe in general.

I also find this sharing concept pretty cool, because I think it brings back a sense of community that we as species might have forgotten as time went by and we developed enough to allow ourselves our personal space and thus, our self-made isolation. And so, getting hosted by (at first) a total stranger and (after some time) a familiar figure, or even hosting someone you don't know just out of curiosity and because you simply can afford it, is still something that's bound to amaze me and remind me that I'm bound to live my life in the company of millions and billions of friends I have yet to meet.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love discovering obscure and yet unknown indie/indie rock/indie pop bands in the depths of YouTube, as well as listening to full albums from English, French, German and sometimes Romanian artists.

I have recently discovered a pretty cool Icelandic rock band that got my interest: Kaleo. Oh Wonder, Broods, Chet Faker, Flume, Tove Lo and probably a ton of other brilliant peeps also fill my ears with music on a daily basis.

I don't normally watch movies because of a very poor attention span (still getting along pretty well though!), but I do have my favourites, the ones that kept me on the edge of my seat until the very end: the pretty well-known Shawshank Redemption, the very old and classic Dirty Dancing and La Famille Belier (acclaimed French movie, really touching, worth seeing!)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I learned decent German in a bit less than 2 years. I pride myself in my passion for foreign languages and my drive to become a pro in this field, so a great personal achievement of mine would be managing the very versatile and not always friendly German language :-)

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach Romanian, English, German, French or a bit of Dutch, as well as stuff about project management and I could talk for hours about volunteering opportunities around the world <3

I would love to get to know the perspectives of people coming from very diverse backgrounds and countries and their take on more abstract issues, because that way I can also get to see how culture plays a role in the way we form our opinions, which is at the very least fascinating to me.

I would like to share my stories and for other people to share their stories with me. Knowledge about random things I think should also be treated as a common good, as well as jokes and friendly teasing :-)

What I Can Share with Hosts

My packed lunch quite likely, my time visiting their cities of residence and generally my input on things.
