Overview
About Me
Hello, I'm Nilton Santos. I have a degree in Physical Education and a PhD in Cellular and Structural Biology.
During my academic journey, I have engaged in several volunteer works in communities, and I even traveled to Cairo, Egypt, to work with disabled children.
I am a postdoctoral researcher at one of the largest universities in Brazil, UNICAMP. My research focuses on identifying potential targets for therapy in lung, breast, and prostate cancers.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I am registered on this platform because, besides being a researcher, I am very adventurous and would like to meet people in the new places I want to visit. I believe that around here it will be a way to help each other and have many exchanges of experiences.

Music, Movies, and Books
I enjoy listening to both national and international pop music, and my favorite artists are Lady Gaga, Beyoncé, and Adele. Additionally, I am a fan of Rock music, ranging from Queen to Iron Maiden, with Avenged Sevenfold being one of my favorite bands. I also have a great love for Brazilian music, and among the artists I listen to are Marília Mendonça, Pitty, and Alceu Valença.
When it comes to movies, I'm a big fan of the entire Harry Potter series. I also enjoy watching Marvel superhero movies, and my favorite series is Heartstopper on Netflix.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
For me, something amazing was getting my PhD degree.
Teach, Learn, Share
I consider myself a charismatic and outgoing person. I can teach about my culture, my native language, and my country (Brazil). I hope to learn about the local culture, regardless of the place, and learn about the language and/or the city.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I'm not the best cook, but I can show you some typical dishes from Brazil.
