About Me

I was born in raised in a small town called Deer Park. It is a town of about 3,000. I ived in Eastern Washington for my entire life and hadn't traveled very much, but always wanted to. About a year ago I got a job offer in Alaska and started my life as a nomad. Spent 4 and half months up there. I am now working in Seattle to save money and start traveling again in the spring time.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I have always wanted to travel, but haven't thought about seriously devoting my life to it until recently. I am struggling with finding out what I want to spend my life doing, but I know right now that travel sounds like fun. I want to see the world, meet new people, and have incredible life experiences. I am starting to do research in preparation for devoting my life to travel, and heard about this community and decided to join. I am excited to meet new people. and learn from their travels.

Interests

I have always been a fan of music and cooking. I have been playing drums for most of life, and cooking with my family for even longer. I started playing music when I was about ten, and devoted a large part of my life to it. I have been a part of several jazz bands, concert bands, sports bands, and local bands. In my two years that I was a student at Gonzaga University I was a music major as well as a member of the Bulldog Band, the band that performed at all home games and got to travel with the teams to conference and national tournaments. As for cooking, I started when I was young with my dad. I have always had a passion and a knack for it, but never took any formal training. Recently I decided that I one day want to go to culinary school and open up my own restaurant.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love almost all styles of music, expect for modern country and most pop. My music taste has a tendency frequently. I will find a band or a genre that I really like and listen to that group or style until I am bored and find something new. As for movies, I love them all. Drama, actions films, comedies, you name it. The only ones I'm not a huge fan of or horror films, but I will watch them on occasion. I used to read a lot as a kid, but as I've gotten older I have pulled away a little. On occasion though I will stumble across an interesting book that grabs my attention. I enjoy sci-fi, action, and magic type of books. Stories about things that aren't real, but cool to imagine.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

. For the past three summers I have had the opportunity to work as a pyrotechnician. I spend the week working in a warehouse as a general worker. I load and unload trucks, clean the yard, move and stack product, basically anything my boss needs done. On the weekends though I travel around the Pacific Northwest area building and shooting off professional firework shows. I have worked on multiple shows of various sizes, both hand fired and electrically fired. By far the coolest job I have ever had.

Teach, Learn, Share

I think the world is a beautiful place full of amazing people and the only way to truly experience it is to get out there and see it. I want to get into to traveling as a way to meet new people and hear about their lives, learn from their experiences, and share in new ones with them. I believe that everyone you meet helps you grow a little more as an individual and helps create a stronger connection around the world.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share my skills in cooking, music, and my stories. Although I haven't traveled much, I have had an interesting life and met some interesting people. I have heard some incredible stories, and made a few of my own. I also love to cook for others. The joy of food is something I truly love sharing with others. I also love meeting other musicians and jamming with them.
