About Me

Hello fellow travelers and hosts!

I'm Shahid, an enthusiastic globetrotter with an insatiable curiosity about the world. I believe that the best way to experience a new place is through the eyes of its people, which is why I'm passionate about Couchsurfing.

My travel philosophy is simple: immerse myself in local cultures, learn from the people I meet, and create lasting memories along the way. Whether I'm hiking through lush forests, sampling street food in bustling markets, or sharing stories with fellow travelers, I cherish every moment of my adventures.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm on Couchsurfing to find welcoming hosts who can provide me with local insights and a comfortable place to stay during my travels. I value cultural exchange and look forward to making meaningful connections with hosts in different destinations.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music - Road-trip playlists (Yeah, I don't have specific favorites, but I do listen a lot!)

Movies - Into the wild (2007), 127 hours (2010), and much more (I would love to delve deeper in the cinematic universe with a curious travelling companion)

Books - "Alive: The Story of the Andes Survivors" by Piers Paul.
"Life of Pi" by Yann Martel.
. (And much more fiction as well as non-fiction, specific interest in History and Anthropology)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

1) Embarked on an unforgettable solo journey from Bhopal to Shimla, Dehradun, and Mussoorie, solely relying on the kindness of strangers through hitchhiking. Grateful for the incredible people I met along the way who made my adventure not just a travel experience but a testament to the generosity of the human spirit. Looking forward to sharing stories and connecting with fellow travelers

2) Solo trip to Goa - Covered most of the tourist places and beautiful beaches of the Goa with my favourite transport medium - Hitchiking.

3) Solo trip throughout the Madhya Pradesh - Explored classical cities of Indore, Bhopal, Jabalpur, Gwalior as well as many natural and cultural places like Pachmarhi hill station, Sanchi, Bhimbetka, Ujjain, Omkareshwar, Maheshwar and many more local places with the transport medium - Hitchhiking again!!

4) Many more Solo and group trips throughout the Maharashtra - Exploring National Parks, Historic forts and villages, Western coastal region of Konkan and its marvelous beaches etc.

Footnote - (Join me for a trip and I will be happy to waste yours as well as my time, Sharing my memorable experiences of solo travelling and Hitchiking :)

Teach, Learn, Share

I believe in the power of cultural exchange, where every journey is an opportunity to teach, learn, and share experiences with fellow travelers and hosts.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm excited to offer a cultural exchange during my stay. I can share insights into my own culture, traditions, and even teach a bit of my native language if you're interested. As a passionate traveler, I love swapping travel stories and tips, and I'm always eager to learn from my hosts' experiences. If you're up for it, I can also whip up a meal from my home country or share my love for hobbies, whether it's playing a musical instrument, Hitchhiking, or simply having great conversations. Above all, I bring a spirit of respect, cleanliness, and consideration to your space, and I'm here to make our time together enjoyable and memorable.
