About Me
Hello! My name is Olivia. I have taught English at Sias University in Zhengzhou, Henen in China for two years now. I love to travel and I am lucky my job gives me plenty of time to do that. I am currently working on my Master's in TESOL from Azusa Pacific University.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
My husband and I are both originally from rural Indiana. Though, we travel back home to see our families once a year, we spend the rest of our vacation time traveling, usually in the U.S. or SE Asia.
Interests
My husband and I are big DIY enthusiasts. If you need something fixed, chances are he can help. We like watching movies, eating at hole-in-the-wall places, are just walking around talking to new people and finding new things.

Music, Movies, and Books
I love Sufjan Stevens, Iron and Wine, and the Decemberists. I grew up singing bluegrass music with my three sisters, so that is the style I lean towards singing. But, I also enjoy world music, 80's classic, and some 2000's alternative.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Oh, this is a hard one. It may have to be a toss up between singing in front of a few thousand people at our University's homecoming celebration, and jumping off a cliff with my now-husband on one of our first dates.
Teach, Learn, Share
Tony has never met a stranger and, I promise, he has some of the most interesting stories you have ever heard. If you happen to be working on your English, I would love to help you with that. If you come stay with us in China, we can show you the best restaurants and street food and can help you get around the city!
What I Can Share with Hosts
My husband and I are big DIY enthusiasts. If you need something fixed, chances are he can help. He does a little bit of everything. He is also I bit of an amateur brewer, and has even been on TV working with a brewer in Zhengzhou. I generally help him with whatever he is doing, but I am also not bad at decorating and painting. As I teach English for a living, I can help anyone practice, if they care to, or I can try to pass on my limited Mandarin.
