About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Finding the next mission

ABOUT ME

So basically I am a trained Chemist, but also a professional actor who didn't manage to work after the pandemic so now I'm an online teacher and about to get a BA in Philosophy. If you are confused by reading this, don't worry, I also am.

If I had to find a common trait to all of this mess, I guess it's never-ending curiosity and lust for new experiences. Together with a passion for everything international! I've lived two years in Paris, one year on the beautiful Bodensee, some months in Belgium and see myself living abroad (I come from Italy, btw) in the near future.

I love discovering new cultures, languages, traditions, FOOD 🤤 and new places. I love starting to walk and getting wherever my feet take me to. I consider myself a world citizen, and always try to behave as such.

🐈Actually, I think I was a Polish cat in a previous life - as I get along pretty well with cats and I've discovered a great resonance with the Polish culture. Aaaand with the German one, so probably a cat at the German-Polish border.

I like silence, mountains, slow life, woods and forests, staring at the horizon, watching insects and animals being exactly what they ought to be, hunting sunsets and sunrises.

I'm a bit reserved but sociable and helpful person: I like making new friends all over the world and I strongly believe that everyone has a story to tell and therefore deserves to be listened.

I'm in a constant effort to become a better person, get to know my weaknesses and limits and try to go reasonably beyond them. I think that travelling is a key point in that, for its power in opening one's mind.

Spirituality is another side of that - I don't have a religion, but I am captivated by how beneficial it is to get to know yourself deeply - both for yourself and those around you. The path is long, but I'm on it! 💪🏻

[I'm not really into long routines and I try to change and renew my habits when I feel they're starting to canker. I love spending my time in many different and non-related activities and interests: that's my way of feeling alive!] ➡️ I wrote this before the pandemic, which actually made me a bit lazier and I'm actively trying to reverse that! For sure, I'm not a night owl anymore and enjoy my good hours of sleep

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm on Couchsurfing as I see it as the ideal incarnation of the "world citizen" spirit: people hosting, being hosted, helping and getting to know each other in a selfless aptitude, contributing to put barriers down in this world

I've subscribed to CS ten years ago, and since then I've been hosted some times and met such interesting people! Always looking forward to travelling with locals, to knowing new interesting people and new stories, that will enrich my mind and soul!

Interests

I adore travelling: what is better than being on the road, having no other worries than hanging around, meeting new People and exploring new cultures?

I'm quite of a polyhedric person, which can be an advantage but also something arduous to carry on when confronting to a society that doesn't seem to promote eclecticism.

I love sciences- of course, that's what I studied for five years. In particular, I love the way sciences go deeper and deeper in the secrects they're exploring, trying to find an answer.

I love foreign languages: I'm fluent in four languages and always try to learn about new ones. I love (geo)politics. I always want to be aware of what's around me.

I love culture: my mission is to never stop studying and being curious!
I love litterature, arts and MUSIC: I can't live without listening to it! I'm more into (contemporary) rock but love listening to every kind of music, except for no-quality mainstream pop and rap music.

I enjoy writing, I've studied some guitar, piano and transverse flute and I moved some first steps into photography: creativity can have so many voices :)

I love cooking - especially non-Italian food 😂 - and eating :P I'm not your pasta and pizza guy, there's so much more than just that!

I meditate and do some yoga daily and always trying to improve 🧘🏻

Recently very much into foraging and connecting with nature, I feel it's becoming my life-long mission 🌳

Music, Movies, and Books

Everything rock, from Prog rock to pop-rock, mainstream, alternative and indie; some industrial metal; more thoughtful music; some electro-pop:
The Darkness, Rammstein, Nickelback, Einstürzende Neubauten, Gomez, Interpol, Nick Drake, Traffic, Yes, The Cult, The Cure, Joy Division, David Bowie, King Crimson, Llhasa de Sela, Husky, PJ Harvey, Wolf Alice, Subsonica, AC/DC, Devendra Banhart, dEUS, Moby, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, U2, Limp Bizkit, Alice in Chains, Nirvana, Alquins, Queens of the Stone Age, Bush, Carmen Consoli, Kings of Convenience, Foo Fighters, Nina Hagen, Husky, Gil Scott-Heron, alt-J, CCR, Talking Heads, Tinariwen, Alter Bridge, Zaz, Foxy Shazam, Hot Leg, Aerosmith, Placebo, ZZ Top...

During my time in Paris, I profited of the huge amount of cinemas and their low prices, to finally get my own cinema culture, even if I still need to watch soooo many movies
My favourite director at the moment is the great Kieslowski! Very much into other Polish directors like Zanussi and Szulkin.

Not a big fan of Netflix & co. series - the ones I like generally have 30-min episodes to watch along lunch or dinner. So mainly The Office (saw the US, UK and Australian one), The Good Place, Don't Hug Me I'm Scared and some random animation series.

Books: love every kind of literature, I'm particularly fond of classics (especially Italian ones), travel books and theatre stuff, even if I can't always find the time to read.
My absolute favourites: the crazy polish writers Witkiewicz and Gombrowicz. Then Pirandello, Dostoevskij, Calvino, Kafka, Chiara, Gadda, Camus, Kerouac, Hemingway, Canetti, Tokarczuk, Kapuściński...

Currently reading:
"À rebours"by Huysmans, "Seven Brothers" by Kivi and some Muumin books by Tove Jansson 🌸

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I shaked Noam Chomsky's hand and guided him at an event in my university, then chatted with his wife about his busy life (the guy is crazy) while he was being interviewed.

Oh, I also shaked hands with Till Lindemann from Rammstein at a copy-sign event in Paris. And I met Nickelback for some minutes at a meet-and-greet representing the Italian fanclub (youth stuff 😂) - they're pretty tall guys!

One-month backpacking tour of UK and Ireland without much organized beforehand: so many people met, so many sheep encountered in Wales and Ireland, so many miles walked on the Kerry Way.. That trip has definitely shaped who I am now and will always be in my heart!

Drama academy was also one those life-changing experiences as well

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you some Italian, that's my mothertongue :) I can share with you some French or German if you want and fun facts about many other languages. I can teach you some Chemistry if you'll ever need it!

I'm always open to learn new things, so if you want to share new dishes, your own language, teach me to improve my guitar or photography skills, to draw or whatelse you'll be more than welcome.
Wanna meditate together? I'm up for that!

Most of all, I can share with you the pleasure of talking together: that's the best way of learning something from each other :)
