-Staring at the stars on the high Pamir plateau
-Being charged by an elephant in South Africa
-Camping in the Italian vineyards as a lightning storm rolled across the Med Sea
-Being "face to face" with more grizzly bears than I care to admit
-Observing a slow motion revolution in Iran
