Dear couchsurfers,

My name is Oscar Ivan Velez and I live in Puerto Nariño in the Amazonas, Colombia with my family. Before I got sick and became unable to work anymore, I had planned to transform my house in order to host tourists during their stay in Puerto Nariño. Unfortunately, this project has never come to an end become of my handicap. However, I have one room already availaible that I would like to offer to the couchsurfing community in exchange for help in education/institutions in Puerto Nariño.

I have had good experiences, outside CS, with students staying a few days in Puerto Nariño at my house for free while they were helping for some time my son-in-law teaching his english classes as well as other professors from the same collegio. I have decided to continue this exchange and to propose to an couchsurfer to stay at my home on the basis of helping each 2 or 3 days with public education in collegios of my town, or any other public institution. The professors in Puerto Nariño can often use help in english classes mostly but also in mathematics, science, art... There are many ways you can help!

Of course, once in Puerto Nariño, you can just reach me there also, but it's much better to get in touch with me before. To go to my house, go to the curch and climb in the opposite direction to the rio, the church at your right. Once you arrive at the top, continue straightfoward, take the stairs and get down the path. Going down, ask the people for my house, so that you will find it without problem. It will be a big, wooden green house on the right side when the path starts going up again.
