ABOUT ME

I'm a motoring journalist and its the kind of job that lets me drive and ride cars and motorcycles and write about them. I've been to many countries (mostly in Europe, one in Africa and one in North America) but because they were business trips, I hardly got to stay back and get a feel of the place. So, I'm a traveller who's has many frequent flyer miles and no real experiences. Except maybe that one at the Arctic circle :)
My favourite place in India are the Himalayas and the Andaman islands -- I've been to both many times and fall in love with them all over again.
I believe in overlanding it -- cars, bikes trains -- and I find airline travel mind-warpingly boring.
I love meeting new people. I hope to travel the world someday on my time. Till then I'll happily listen and learn from others.
I live alone. I like dogs but dont keep one (its cruel to keep one cooped up in an apartment). I own a Royal Enfield (that works most of the time) and have access to a BMW F650 (it's stoking my planet on two wheels flame) .

Interests

I love to travel by road. I love music and I love photography (of the amateur kind). I'm not a foodie, but I love a good beef steak. I'm very fond of an Indian beer called Kingfisher (yes the same one that owns the F1 team) and I love meeting new people, especially those who have stories to tell (it's why i'm prepared to host them).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

-40 degree Celsius at the Arctic circle, three weeks on a Ducati through the Himalayas, a month living in a hut and scuba diving in the Amdaman islands, three days of driving overland from China to India...

Teach, Learn, Share

I write, so my English is pretty good. I can teach the basics. My Hindi is barely passable so learn from me at your own risk.
Hearing your experiences will be enough learning for me.
