Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Learn stuff, see things, have fun, adventure.
ABOUT ME
I'm an international affairs major at the George Washington University in Washington, DC. I was born and raised near Detroit, MI. I'm ashamed to have never been out of the country. I have a neat bike and I want to ride it absolutely everywhere.
PHILOSOPHY
When I think of how many moments I've already wasted I'm terrified. I don't want to waste any more.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Right now I just started, and once I work a little over the summer I want to donate and get verified.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I always wanted to hitchhike-- it's an artifact of a bygone age, it seems. As close as I've come is the far more organized AmeriCorps*NCCC program, which is like a domestic Peace Corps program. I spent ten months volunteering throughout the United States-- a month of training in Denver, two months of house-building in New Orleans, and seven months of wildland firefighting in Colorado.
Interests
I love reading and writing stories, studying language, listening to weird music, fashion, thoughtful conversation, and dry humor.

Music, Movies, and Books
MUSIC: Joanna Newsom, Cat Power, Frank Sinatra, Tool, Radiohead, Tori Amos. I like a lot of indie and older stuff.
MOVIES: Casablanca, Blade Runner, Brick, The Royal Tenenbaums. Film noir and science fiction flicks are up my alley.
BOOKS: The Great Gatsby, Franny & Zooey, The Stand, Foucault's Pendulum. Pulp and thoughtful fantasy.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I've lit ten-foot tall bonfires all in a string along the Rocky Mountains and the U.S. government paid me to do it. I've painted the undersides of the overhangs of roofs in New Orleans on a twenty-foot extension ladder. I've run laps around monuments in Washington DC and never gotten tired of seeing them.
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm learning Arabic. I love to cook and am always interested in trying a new recipe. I like learning new mechanical things and craft things. I bind my own books, I play Dungeons and Dragons, I've built a couple computers.
