About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To travel as much as I can and to eat as much as my doctor says I can.
ABOUT ME
instagram: @palomaraez : https://www.instagram.com/palomaraezs/
I am a Peruvian backpacker (professional speaking: audiovisual major, teacher's assistant, photographer and soon-to-be masters student) that wants to know as many places time allows me and know as many people as I can (stories fascinate me, especially love stories). I can adapt, I think is the key of learning. I like to help around and talk a lot: Everything you learn from every person you meet can and will shape you, that is why I love to keep my mind wide open. I am also a dog lover, a dessert lover and a baking lover. I always look forward to knowing new philosophies and points of view.
PHILOSOPHY
The world is a playground. You know that when you are a kid, but somewhere along the way everyone forgets it. My life mission is to never forget that. Plus the cliche one: what goes around comes around: treat people how you want to be treated. So be careful what you do. And Carpe Diem: live life now.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I have couch surfed for half a year in Europe: it was amazing! Also, I hosted when I was living in Spain and in Lima.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have couch surfed all my way through central Europe, and let me tell you: you meet the most amazing people ever.
Couchsurfing is just proof that kindness is still alive in this world
Interests
Getting to know historic places, and natural locations and try as many different foods as I can. Traveling is one of the ways to know that there is a God after all. I am a diagnosed film addict: I love watching trailers and making a list of all the movies I have to watch, also reading de trivia and researching about the film. I love theatre and will start my master's program in Amsterdam next year. About music, I'm eclectic, although I have to say not many people know the bands I listen to. I'm very keen on learning how to cook too, not very good at it but trying to :)

Music, Movies, and Books
Every West Anderson and Greta Gerwig movie for a everyday conversation, a Tarantino movie if you want to get graphic, a Terrence Malick movie if you want to get philosophical, and mention any Indie movie if you want to go deep.
Books: by far my favorite book is "Kafka by the river" by Murakami . Some of Mario Vargas Llosa ("Travesuras de una niña mala" "Quien mató a Palomino Molero") and all of the book written by Jorge Eslava (because of him I learn to love reading at the age of 8) "Florentino"
Music...#sigh..that is a hard one, I am just eclectic with this area: Coldplay, American Authors, Aquilo, Bastille, Thirty Seconds to Mars, Best Coast, Birdy, Calle 13, Capital Cities, Cazzette, Charlie Winston , Crystal Fighters, Daft Punk, Death Cab fo Cutie, The Drums, Family of the year, Forty Food Echo, Glyphs, Hellogoodbye, Icona Pop, Iron and Wine, Jack Johnson, the Killers, Kings of Leon, Lord Huron, the Lumineers, MGMT, Passion Pit...endless jajajaj
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I have climbed Macchu Piccu, traveled in the Sahara by camel, gone away with my best friend to the beaches of Ica, ridden my 1972 Volkswagen Beatle up a hill, spent every birthday with my family, and drank a whole bottle of Pisco and didn't black out, Saved a drunk person in Budapest, danced to a Silent party in Poland until 8 am and drove in the back of a scooter in Athens. Also, adopting 2 puppies.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach how to make some peruvian dishes, about different types o cinema, how to edit videos, how to eat as the world is ending and how to properly wash socks. I would like to learn different customs, different life stories. I like to share knowledge, secrets, and ways of thinking, but above all, experience and time.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Anything you want to know about Peru or Southamerica, I will do my best to answer. Can tell you about some crazy customs we have, crazy travelling stories, teach you some peruvian recipes and can offer to take good pictures for you. Of course, a place to crash whenever you need, wherever I'm currently living.
