About Me
“Part time worker, full time traveler” - Encounters At The End Of The World
I was born in China, grew up in Texas. I studied mathematics in university and then decided to go in a completely different direction. I’ve been working in National Parks and Forests for the past two years (Kings Canyon, Grand Teton, Yellowstone) as a trail worker. This summer I started a job cooking in the wilderness for trail crews. I stay in the backcountry for months at a time during the summers. During the winters I like to travel around and learn how to cook new and amazing dishes, so I can prepare them during the summers for the trail crews I work with.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I want to meet people I wouldn't normally meet in my bubble. I love listening to other peoples' stories, seeing new places, experiencing new things. I've met so many great people on here.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I solo hitchhiked from Houston to San Diego to Seattle. For the past 3 summers I've lived out of my tent in the mountains of America for work.
Teach, Learn, Share
I've done extensive hiking and backpacking throughout the US. I'd love to share tips and secret places if you plan on doing any hiking in the US. I'm also a backcountry cook during the summers. My goal is to learn and share recipes from all around the world. My favorite dishes to prepare are Chinese (I am half Chinese on my mom's side). I'm also trying to learn French right now. I am more than willing to help you practice English, if you want. I've studied international Latin dance (cha cha, rhumba, jive, samba). I want to branch out to social Latin dance; so far I've practiced Cumbia and Salsa.
