About Me

I grew up in Massachusetts, went to college in New York, and law school in New Jersey, where I lived for over 30 years. I have 2 children, now in their 30s and married. I transferred to the Florida office of my company about 3 years ago. I also just bought a 2nd home in New Hampshire - it is very hot in FL during the summer, and I miss the autumn colors and winter skiing (plus, it is closer to my family). I am an in-house attorney for a large bank, focusing on consumer law. I love traveling and am looking forward to having the time to do more. So far I have visited every continent except Australia and Antarctica. When picking a place to travel I look for someplace where I can learn more about the history and culture of a place. I enjoy visiting historic spots. The exception is scuba diving - but even when doing that I like to learn more about the location and the underwater environment. My other interests are theater, music - especially blues and jazz, and reading. I like ice hockey and soccer [football] but otherwise not a big sports fan.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I don't mind traveling alone, but especially when doing so it would be nice to meet local people for conversation and to learn more about where they live. I am independent and able to explore the area on my own so my host does not have to entertain me all day (unless the host is available and wants to). I would prefer to visit with people closer to my age, but I am laid back and flexible.

Music, Movies, and Books

My favorite music is blues - all varieties - and jazz.
I read a lot, but for relaxation I prefer mysteries and suspense

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I learned to scuba dive over 30 years ago but then stopped for a long time. About 5 years ago I began again and now that i live in Florida hope to dive more often.
