CURRENT MISSION Always go forward, do not stand still, enjoy life ABOUT ME I am a Dutch freelance writer I journalist I communication advisor and (political) news junkie with a MA in journalism. I love to travel and my favorite country is definitely the U.S. where I did an extensive three-month road trip in the early Spring of 2017. I am laid back and open-minded and always up for good conversation and/or nights out on the town. In January 2018 I moved to Davao City in the Philippines where my wife is working with an international NGO. PHILOSOPHY I work to live, but never live to work. Family and friends are very important and happiness can be found in little things.

Why I'm on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING I've been a member of the CS community since 2009 when I lived in Amsterdam, but I wasn't really active until my USA road trip in the early Spring of 2017. End of 2017 I hosted about 5 surfers myself and I really enjoyed it. COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE Saluting country music legend Hank Williams at his grave in Montgomery, Alabama at midnight sharing a whiskey with my CS host.

I am a news junkie, love tennis and long distance running and I'm into a wide range of music (favs though are: Patrick Watson, Them Crooked Vultures and Marcus Miller). I love to immerse myself in new cultures and experience other people's everyday customs.
