Overview
About Me
I am a young Colombian woman and I'm currently (2015) doing my MA on Education at Bath Spa University in England which is both a challenge and a great opportunity. I'm a very friendly, easy-going and active person. I've been a language teacher for about 5 years and I am very hard-working. I love my job and it usually loves me back: I teach children (or should I say THEY teach me?). I adore travelling because it is the only activity that keeps on reminding me who I am: a free-dreaming woman who enjoys talking to people and making new friends. It really is about the people you meet in the places you visit!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm on CS because I enjoy travelling and meeting new people. CS gives me the chance to do both things in a friendly and safe athmosphere. Also, because I like the name: it opens the possibility of diving in and out of people's couches around the world and having people over so you can show off your own country with them! It is exciting!
Interests
My interests include traveling at least once a month, learning languages that can draw me close to the people I meet, dancing to Latino music with a group of friends, reading intriguing historical novels and content books about Education and Languages, and walking along a beach holding hands with Camilo, my husband. I only surrender myself to 2 vices: a good Colombian radio programme and good sense of humour.

Music, Movies, and Books
I adore Jason Mraz! I think he is MRAZing! I like music with good lyrics and with a nice story behind them. Historical movies are my favourite - but chick-flicks are often necessary.
Favorite book: Caballo de Troya by J.J Benítez... I am yet to finish the series. I also like Colombian authors like Gabo, Juan Gabriel Silva and Daniel Samper.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Watch two babies being delivered! First, my sister Camila in 1995: I was 9 then and got to cut the umbilical cord. Second, my friend's baby Aimee in 2005. What an experience! It makes you think of the amazing things we women are capable of.
Also, I participated of a life-changing experience in 2002: Ruta Quetzal! That's why I sometimes call myself 'rutera'.
Teach, Learn, Share
Teach: English, Spanish, knitting, how to make a plat, how to make rice (the Colombian way)
Learn: Happy birthday's songs in other languages, dancing steps, historical facts of the place I'm visiting, some more knitting.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Several Mojitos and some good laughs!
I can also share interesting conversations about several topics. And, if we disagree, I can share Colombian souvenirs to ease things up. If we agree, I'll share the souvenirs anyway...
