About Me

36. Vegan. Nurse. Musician. Wanderlust. Friend. A few months back, I wrapped up my months-long adventure of backpacking South America and settled into Madison! As of August 2023, I’m officially hosting surfers again. Ready to put on my host hat again and meet fellow wanderlusts, visitors, and incredible people from all over. 😌

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

While I can’t speak for the whole CS community, I have to say that the majority of my experiences have been nothing short of incredible. It’s people okay with saying no to their comfort zones and really immersing themselves in all facets of cultures and (most) are eager to learn/understand/share.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music- all across the board! I’ve played piano and sang for 30 years, anything from church services to weddings, jazz clubs to drag shows. It’s an easy common denominator for me to connect with people as I generally have interest in all genres :)

Books- being a nurse, I’m a fan of medical ethics books (all my medical people, look up Dr. Atul Gawande or Dr. David Casarett!) Self-Help books such as Brené Brown helping others be the best them they can be. For fiction, Stuart Tipton 😳👏 incredible writer.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've been to all 50 states in the United States, doing 48 states in 48 months. Getting lost in the Andes Mountains. Feeding sloths in Suriname. Losing my passport in New Zealand. Robbed at gunpoint in French Guiana and Haiti…..but those are stories for in-person 😌

What I Can Share with Hosts

Comfy accommodations, vegan cooking, nights of piano and wine, fun stories, and witty banter.
