About Me

I'm a software engineer who has dreams of traveling the world. I've lived in the Kansas City Missouri area all my life but grew up taking road trips with my family. I may not have lived in many places, but I definitely want to travel all over.

I'm very laid back and like to just "go with the flow". However, I would not say any of my friends or family would call me lazy.

I love technology of all kinds, yes I'm a bit of a nerd. More than that though, I just love how things work

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Travel for a change of scenery is great but it means a lot more if you get to interact with locals and experience the unique cultural things in an area.

I'm not the most social of people and meeting people can be tough. But I want to better myself on that front and I see couchsurfing as a great way to do that.

Interests

Roughly in order: Robotics, photography, technology/how things work, hiking and the outdoors, videography and animation.

Music, Movies, and Books

Whether it's hard rock, rap, techno, classical, or anything in between I probably listen to it. I just love music of all kinds. However, I'll admit that old-style country is pretty low on my list. I find myself listening to music with good beats and/or good (normally uplifting) lyrics. I don't like to pick favorites because my taste varies from day to day but some of my favorite bands would have to be: Relient K, A Day To Remember, and Walk Off The Earth,

School has limited my reading time, but I do love reading. I gravitate towards dystopian, sci-fi, technology thrillers, and adventure novels.

Movies are also awesome, but everyone likes movies, right? My one catch all are animated films. When I decided my career path it was either an engineer or animator. I can't think of any animated films that I don't like.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've developed and run summer programs to get students interested in creating with technology through programming.
