Hey everybody, my name is Pauli and I live in Munich in Germany.
As I lived here for my hole life I wanted to do something new, so last year I moved to Hamburg for a voluntary social year. Living alone in a new city was the best think I could do and I learned so much during this time. I'm pretty sure I want to study somewhere else, maybe in the Netherlands, to improve my english and to become acquainted with a new country.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I heard about it during my trip trough Australia and it sounds great for me. I love getting to know other people and their culture. I want to see more than the typical tourist attractions. For me the best way to discover a country is to see the places the locals recommend me and to talk with them to really understand their way of living.
But for me it's not just about seeing other places, I would be glad to show people from all over the world around my beautiful city Munich.

Interests

Since I'm 6 years old I play field hockey and I really felt in love with it. I work as a hockey coach and went to some hockey events such as the Hockey World Cup in 2014 in the Netherlands, the European Champions chip in 2011 and the Champions Trophies 2008 and 2010 in Germany.
Apart from that I love traveling! During the last year I had a lot of free time (I have finished high school but I didn't start studying at university yet) so I could travel a lot. One of my travels was my first trip alone to Australia and New Zealand and I'm so happy to have had this experience.
I'm really interested in psychology and want to start studying this subject in october.

Music, Movies, and Books

Most of my favorite books are crime fiction like the thriller series about 'Sebastian Bergmann' (Hjorth, Rosenfeldt). But I also enjoyed reading 'Me before you' from Jojo Moyes, the trilogy 'Hunger Games' and some other books in german.
When it comes to movies I'm a typical girl. Dirty Dancing, Love Actually, Sex and the City, Pretty Women... And I like funny animation films such as Despicable Me and Inside Out.
I'm a big fan of Jack Johnson, Coldplay and Green Day.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Last year I went hiking in the uplands of Sri Lanka. The breathtaking scenery really impressed me.
Another thing I'll never forget is Skydiving in New Zealand. Great Experience!
