About Me

Living in Belarus, working in IT-sphere. Adore my country (but not state) and my city.

I love listening to people's stories and believe that even most unpleasant and scary things make up the wonderful poetry of life. For me such scary thing was hitchhiking - previous summer I have tried hitchhiking first time in my life, it was a trip from Mogilev to Grodno. After that I realized I want more, hitchhiked to the lake Baikal, to Iran and some other great places.

Twice in my life I encountered real sharks and were biten by the mad cat, but still love animals:) Had dog, cat, fish and 2 budgies together in one flat.

I'm open-minded and curious about the world we all live in and hope to meet the same people here.

Sometimes I open the doors of my Minsk home for the guests.
Please understand that I am not a hotel, not a hostel, I am on CS in order to communicate and exchange something interesting, I expect the same from the guests:)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Recently I've realised that I get bored from any trips I take. Probably I dislike the way they have been done, it was too impersonal, without real diving into country's life. Hitchhiking and Couchsurfing are my attempt to overcome this issue.
I'm still seeking my life path and I feel Couchsurfing experience can seriously help me with that. Looks like there are many people with the same opinion on CS.

Music, Movies, and Books

Books - I love many things written by these authors: R. Senchin, F. Dostoevsky, A.Chekhov, I.Turgenev, L. Andreev, I. Goncharov, G. Gazdanov, E. Limonov, S. Maugham, L.F. Celine (his first two books), M. Houllebecq, J. Steinbeck, J. Updike etc.

Movies - J. Jarmush (his early films), P.T. Anderson, K. Lonergan, some of D. Lynch and some W. Allen's movies, Coen brothers (absolutely all their movies), A. Balabanov, K. Shakhnazarov and N. Mikhalkov (only their early films) etc.

Music - don't have a favorite genre, any song at any period of life can leave a deep mark on my soul.
The one group which I truly like at any time is Massive Attack - enjoy everything made by them.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Hitchhiking alone to Iran and Pamir highway + jumping with parachute are on my top!

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you some German and Belarusian, can tell a bit about student exchange programs. And for sure I can share a recipe of legendary Belarusian draniki.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Well, during my life, many things interested me. I will be happy to chat on a variety of topics: from automobiles construction to peculiarities of German education system. But no questions regarding Belarusian economy: I totally don't understand how it still lives and works!)

And for sure I‘m always glad to bring some cookies to my hosts
