About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Never stop adventuring

ABOUT ME

I am a Canadian woman who loves to garden and travel. I recently bought and renovated a home on the east coast of Canada. I lived for years before on the west coast, in Vancouver and Galiano Island. I grew up in the north in Saskatchewan. I now divide my time between my home in New Brunswick, Canada, Chile (where my partner lives) and travel destinations. I work online teaching children in China

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I was active on couchsurfing for many years from the early 2000s to 2014 or so. I hosted and stayed around the world - and met so many wonderful people, some of whom I am still friends with. I recently had the thought to look and still if the community still existed and I am happy that it still does!

Interests

I have created a food, herb and pollinator garden on the east coast
I like to play a little guitar and sing, but I don't do it as much these days, however, I always enjoy it.
I biked from Vancouver to the south of Mexico with my partner, biking is one of my favourite ways to explore new places
I live near the beach, a national park and a river and I love the time outdoors, all year round

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Wow, so many can't just say one. Some of the top ones:

- biked from Canada to Mexico and experienced warm hospitality along the way
- lived for 2 years working with refugees from Burma in Thailand
- spent a semester abroad at the University of the South Pacific in Fiji, learned to dive, worked with WWF in local communities on sustainability projects
- raised my sister's children for 9 years in BC, Canada

Teach, Learn, Share

I am always curious just to be open to learn what each person has to share
I can teach English of course but also gardening tips and I know how to make my own moisturizer and conditioner so I guess I could teach that!

What I Can Share with Hosts

My love for travel and passion for life and what I've learned from the experiences I've gained in life so far.
I can cook for you, sing for you perhaps if you have a guitar
