ABOUT ME

I recently quit my comfortable job to go around europe by bicylcle and volunteer in different (eco)projects. I'll have my tent with me, but since I got to know CS, I'm looking forward to meeting people on the road this way too.
I am a thinker that always sees the other side of the coin. On the upside that makes me quite open-minded, on the downside is decision-making always a challenge for me! :-)
I like to laugh at the ironic aspects I seem to discover in almost any situation or opinion as well as in my own opinions and actions. I feel irony and respect are not in contradiction and that no subject is too holy to make fun of...
I love to sing along with the music playing, although quite inaccurately and in violation of Katie´s law that I mustn´t sing. Luckily not everyone is supporting that law, as I can´t help myelf most of the time anyway...
I don't know for certain why I like ending my phrases with three dots... but it may be that I rarely feel the very last word on any given subject has been said.
I like conversations to be either meaningful and really penetrating the subject or complete nonsense and fun. In between I'm out of my depth... I'm terrible at smalltalk.
But I certainly enjoy some action as well! I like riding my bicycle, hiking, drinking, camping, travelling, going to parties and dancing...

PHILOSOPHY

The most important thing - at the moment - for me is not to let fear get the better of me and learn again and again that when I overcome my fear and really try to follow my heart, the whole universe seems to conspire to help me on my way...

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm still relatively new on CS and finding my way around ... But I've had some good surfing and hosting experiences allready. I am intending to check out the CS-events as well.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

So far fifteen very positive experiences, both as a surfer and as a host. And looking forward to more!!!
The only negative experiences so far are surfers not turning up without giving notice! This is something I can't get my head around. Don't have people waiting for you in vain. They have better things to do. I know I do!

Arts, Science, Spirituality,... - Anything that goes beyond the surface!
Lately I have been getting more and more interested in meditation... to my own surprise and that of many of my friends. I still need to find out though, if it is just the latest whim of the moment or if it might stick.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

After having a sauna in a self-built sweatlodge with rocks we heated in our campfire, running with friends through the forrest at night and jumping in the river under an open sky, admiring the stars and feeling more alive than ever!
