Why I'm on Couchsurfing
I love the concept of hospitality in general and especially that the internet makes it possible to experience it with the help of websites like couchsurfing. I have stayed with very interesting people in cool places and I want to give back some of the kindness they offered.
Music, Movies, and Books
Music: I like many different styles of music. My favourite bands include the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Oasis, Green Day, and Rise Against. Books: Up until about two years ago I used to love fantasy novels like Harry Potter, The Lord of the Rings, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (all of them also in their film versions). Now I read more traditional novels. I really liked The Call of the Wild and The Catcher in the Rhye.
One Amazing Thing I've Done
Waking up in a tent on the veranda of a wooden hut on the first night of a boat trip up Rio Ucayali in the Peruvian rainforest with everything around me shaking, and, after some seconds, realising that it was a medium earthquake.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can show you a little about playing the guitar and I'm always happy to practise languages and exchange knowledge. If you have a child in school, I'm a great private teacher in a lot of subjects ;)
My Interests
In my free time, I like to practise languages I know, join the university sports programmes, train rowing and go hiking. I also enjoy discussing politics and of course I am super interested in science (as I study physics).
