I like to listen and learn, nothing brings me more joy in this world than understanding. I'd like to meet other passionate people and give back to the world that made me.

I'm Philip, some people call me Flip, Phil, P, PQ. I was born and raised in the surrounding area and have a deep love for my town and my home and I feel it is my duty to share that love!

I cook at a well respected restaurant in Olde Town and live within walking distance of the best bars and restaurants that Petersburg has to offer. This town has rich character full of juxtaposition of glam and gloom, a bizarre twist of just about every type of person under the sun. You never really know what you are going to get from Petersburg on a day to day and I love it.

On any given night you can find me making music in my studio with friends, at the bars with my coworkers, or lazying around the house with my dog. I like to cook for guests, share music, make music, watch movies and have a couple glasses of whatever's on hand and have some great conversation around the fire!

People who live and invest in Petersburg are driven citizens dedicated to making this town a better place to live. I believe there is a true spirit of opportunity here, a story waiting to be told, so come see it for yourself before it hits the national scene!

Music:
Okay so I don't have to overthink this I'm going to share what is currently in my pile of recently played vinyls - The Black Keys, Glass Animals, Elton John, Gorillaz, Kendrick Lamar, Portugal. The Man, Bob Seger, Death Cab for Cutie, Tycho, The Rolling Stones, The Weeknd, and Ratatat.

Movies:
Coen brothers (Fargo, No Country for Old Men), Christopher Nolan (Inception, Interstellar), Wes Anderson (Fantastic Mr. Fox, Moonrise Kingdom), David Fincher (Fight Club), Francis Ford Coppola (Apocalypse Now). I'm also a huge fan of documentaries with my favorites being Ken Burns (The Civil War) and Adam Curtis (The Century of Self, The Power of Nightmares).

Books:
I don't read as much as I'd like to but I'm currently reading a biography on Alexander Hamilton that is very inspirational!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I started a band with friends in my mom's shed when I was 15 and went on to play with some of my favorite bands, release one album and numerous singles, build a small fanbase around the world, and get paid to write music! Oh and I don't play a single instrument.
